This is the edition that came with the prologue for The Dark Knight on a separate disc. Other than that it's a repackage of the orginal disc.

Isn't that a little odd since the 1-disc blu-ray of Batman Begins has the Dark Knight prologue on the same disc as the feature and all other special features?

It does come w/ the TDK prologue. I have the BB BD. If that "extra BD" has the prologue than it means absolute fuck all to the set. It's pointless.

Yeah, I was wrong I guess. It may have been the DVD version I was thinking of that included that. I guess I have no clue what the second disc is. I can't seem to find any information about it.

One of the reviewers for it on Amazon (who specifies they are reviewing that edition) says the disc is no different than the regular one and that the only extra stuff is non-disc based, printed material.

Amazon appears to have just listed the number of discs wrong (big surprise there).

It doesn't look like the Canadian release has any digital copy at all.

http://www.amazon.ca/Knight-LAscensi...9924515&sr=1-1

Amazon's cover art lists it as a Blu-ray, DVD Combo. No Digital copy.

I was hoping WB would release a proper digital copy up here rather than UV, but it looks like they have decided to not release anything at all.

is it positively confirmed that BB USA is getting a SteelBook™ that includes the Reborn docu?

How so? Isn't it supposed to cover all three films?

If even shares the same narrator who did the History Channel specials included on the TDK bonus disc, "Batman Tech" and the Psychology special, so there might be a chance it's produced by the same people involved. If this one is as good as those, I'm sold.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises - Blu-ray + DVD + UV Digital Copy (Dec 07, 2012)

I was so psyched that they were going to produce a collectors set w/ THE BAT Vehicle. They did a great job for TDK back in '08 w/ The Batpod. Kind of bummed out on the sets that have been announced. BEST BUY has the shattered cowl, Target has 2 different Digibooks (one w/ Bane, one w/ Bats) and BEST BUY will also have a Steelbook. Unless something comes from overseas, it doesn't look like what I was hoping for is going to happen...

Sorry if this has already been covered but I don't want to read the whole thread. Will BB and TDK be new transfers or is it the same from previous blu ray releases? Will TDK still be multi aspect ratio?

Same transfers. When the Ultimate Edition comes out next year there may be new transfers but I'm not counting on it.

Only way I'm buying Batman Begins or The Dark Knight again is if Nolan does a commentary. Fingers crossed, but not holding my breath.

Other than that, TDKR is coming soon! Planning to probably get this from Best Buy since they usually have extra features exclusive to their store.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises - Blu-ray + DVD + UV Digital Copy (Dec 07, 2012)

It was just the regular BB BD. Nothing special aside from it having the TDK prologue. It was just further marketing for TDK essentially. Cool addition.

The prologue itself is...well the beginning of TDK w/ all of the Joker Heist. Which was great marketing for it when I Am Legend (only in IMAX) had it before the movie. Sure as hell got the audience excited.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises - Blu-ray + DVD + UV Digital Copy (Dec 07, 2012)

Does anyone know if this is the current listing for the Best Buy Steelbook? The URL I previously had bookmarked is no longer valid on the Best Buy website and the listing I just linked does not indicate that it's a Steelbook anywhere except in the URL itself. Can anyone help?

Yes that's the one. You can tell by the cover it's different than the regular blu-ray.

sorry for being lazy, but I assume this big "ultimate trilogy set" coming out next year will be different from 'trilogy' set coming out in 2 weeks? Ive heard the blu for TDK is pretty dodgy at times video quality wise

I'm reluctant to pre-order from Best Buy, as they don't automatically charge you the release day price. This is likely to be $5 less when it streets, but they won't change the price unless you call 1-800 after the fact and 'splain it to 'em.

Nice to see it get top marks (and not repeat the same VQ mistakes of TDK) but since this was my least liked film in the trilogy, I have no problem waiting for the Ultimate Trilogy set next year. Hopefully they'll remaster TDK for that set.

If the same master is used, LPCM, Dolby True HD, and DTS-HD Master Audio all sound the same.
