Disney's John Carter (Stanton) - June 2012

No exact date yet, but Amazon has it listed in both Blu-ray + DVD alongside Blu-ray 3D + Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Copy combo packs.

Here's what some of the bonus material will look like:

· DVD Feature Film+ Bonus
· Disney Second Screen
· 360 Degrees of John Carter
· Deleted Scenes with Optional Commentary by Director Andrew Stanton
· Barsoom Bloopers
· 100 Years of in the Making
· Audio Commentary with Film Makers
Amazon also has a $5 off coupon for the 3D combo pack that expires on April 5th.

I loved the film, so my pre-order is in.

And of course you'll save more depending on how much Amazon price competes with all the other retailers as the release date gets closer so its a win win.

I wonder when they recorded the commentary. Could be interesting if it was done after the OW, but I kind of doubt that.

...I'd love to hear Stanton talk about the film. I loved the film.

Like most films, I'm assuming all the bonus material was created prior to the film's release.

I didn't hate it. But I didn't like it enough to buy it. I was happy to have had a free DMR ticket to see it because it wasn't a movie I'd have been happy spending $10 on either.

Glad to see the Second Screen as a feature.

I loved it too, but high $20s AFTER coupon is pathetic. Gotta make that $200 million back somehow.

$15-$20 is a purchase.

Amazon will price match whatever competitor has it cheaper by or on release date. If anything, there's a great chance the pre-order will end up costing one $20 (or even less) at the end of the day.

I went ahead and preordered it since it had the $5 coupon and was also in my gold box deals.

on a somewhat related note, the commentary track on 'Mars Needs Mom' is more entertaining than the actual movie.

even the studio tinkering with 'The Golden Compass' director Chris Weitz makes no mention of his disdain over the studio cutting/interference of the final cut of the film.

What's the coupon code?

EDIT: Nevermind. Found out how the coupon works and pre-ordered.

Yeah I just got a delivery estimate e-mail from Amazon. They said I should be receiving my copy by June 8th.

Does release date arrival not work in Puerto Rico?

Not in my experience.

Although, to be fair, the shipments arrive on time (sometimes early). But the post office in PR likes to sit on them for a few days before they even bother delivering them.

Re: Disney's John Carter (Stanton) - June 2012

Future Shop in Canada will get a limited amount of John Carter with global exclusive packaging. I don't think it's a SteelBook but it's a metal case of some kind. I guess Disney was expecting this to have been a bigger hit to commission this. The alternative font shown on page 2 of the link is so much better than the one that Disney actually used.

If that Future Shop version has the 3D included, I'm definitely getting it...hell, even if it doesn't I will probably pick it up.

Apparently no one will be getting this excellent concept cover:
