Assuming that this refers to me and Mr. Smithee, it's worth noting that -- beyond the fact that we don't even write alike or post from the same country -- two consecutive posts announcing the same news, less than two minutes apart, by two different people with a demonstrated interest in this topic is entirely within the realm of possibility, especially considering this particular news was announced not long before either of us posted it here. Also, I can't see other people's posts while I'm composing my own, and didn't actually notice Alan's post before logging out on my iPad. Pure coincidence.

Last night I was finally able to complete my Marvel 3D collection. I found a used copy of Captain America: The First Avenger 3D, and to sweeten the deal, the store was having a B1G1 sale. So I picked up that and Brave 3D.

How's the 3D presentation on Titanic? I read good things but wanted to see from those that have viewed it that way. Really want to revisit, but that runtime scares me...

The Titanic 3D transfer is actually pretty good, especially for a film nearly 20 years old. The runtime scares you? Pause it - or watch it over a couple of nights.

Well the 3D isn't any longer, so if you safely watched it all in one sitting, you should do fine watching the 3D. I'll wager the disc change won't take you all that long.

There's nothing about the 3D version of "Titanic" that will leap off the screen. But scenes exploring the shipwreck definitely benefit as well as the overall sense of the enormity of the vessel. The 3D effect adds to the sense of dread as Rose and Jack weave their way below deck to make it to the surface...the water and narrow hallways make for an intense feeling of desperation and isolation. It's a 3D disc worth having for sure. I immediately purchased "Ghosts of the Abyss" in 3D as well. They make for an excellent 3D double Feature.

Received my copy of It Came From Outer Space from Best Buy today. Also want to mention that it is on sale this week for $7.99.

I received my copy of It Came From Outer Space from BestBuy.com as well. It was a real treat to watch. The print is very nicely cleaned up and the 3D was a lot of fun and surprisingly good the whole time. Just a bit of ghosting from time to time but so enjoyable.
It has the trailer in 3D too.

Watched It Came From Outer Space in 3D last night. The good news is that the transfer is fantastic. It looks spectacular and the 3D has great depth throughout. The bad is that the 3D really isn't used much more than added depth (which again looks great) and there aren't more than a few "3D money shots." Also the story is weak. Not much fun or action to be had in this one. But it is still worth checking out, especially since it is only $7.99 at Best Buy right now.

Yeah, I noticed "It Came From Outer Space" in 3D is actually available in-store along with the Don Knotts classic "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken" and one of Jake Gyllenhaal's earlier screen roles, "October Sky." I hesitantly passed until my next payday because I've been bleeding cash on all these releases. I'm gonna ask the question again..."Is packaged media really dying?' ...not from what I've been seeing lately.

The Schultz world didn't lose an ounce of charm. The folks at Blue Sky did Bill Melendez proud, 'cause they wisely chose to cling to the world he helped create in "A Charlie Brown Christmas" so many years ago. This was a real treat and brought back more than a few happy memories...and the 3D effect had more than a few terrific moments involving my favorite Peanuts character, Snoopy. This is a lesson to all the reboot writers: Go back to what made the characters popular in the first place and do as little tinkering as possible and new audiences will gobble it up like a great pumpkin pie!

I haven't seen that but I reviewed Fox's 3D conversion of Jumper here- that was watchable but obvious that the 3D was faked. I'll likely get Predator eventually if the price drops low enough, but converted movies aren't a high priority for me.

I haven't watched it, but the 3D conversion for Predator is known to be sourced from the "Ultimate Hunter Edition" master that was DNR scrubbed to hell and back.

I didn't care for the Predator 3D transfer. A few bits stood out like the ship at the very beginning dropping the Predator off on Earth. The parts where he used his laser tracker is also cool, but other than that, it's not worth fully watching in 3D. I got it for $12.99, so at least I didn't pay too much for it.

Yeah, I got it for $12 used. Figure it's at least better than the Hunter Edition 2D viewing experience...

This news may have slipped by some 3D enthusiasts. Twilight Time will be releasing "The Mad Magician in 3D (1954)," Vincent Price's follow-up to the hugely successful, "House of Wax" on January 17th, 2017. Twilight Time is also including the Three Stooges shorts, "Pardon My Backfire 3D (1953)" and "Spooks 3D (1953)" in the package! Sweeeet! Moe, Larry & Shemp IN 3D.
Incidentally, "House of Wax" is currently available at Best Buy for just $7.99. Amazon is only making it available to a-hem, "prime" members at that price—but predictably, it is "temporarily out-of-stock."

Gotta order that when it goes up- it's impossible to tell which Twilight Time titles will sell out and which end up sitting for years but they should get a lot of orders for it. I have a crappy red/blue copy of the Spooks short that aired on TV along with the partial-3D movie The Mask. They had advertised they were going to show Pardon My Backfire with that also, but that wasn't shown.
