Re: James Bond Update

Many people are getting the Best Buy exclusives now. The website is listing all of them for in-store pickup and a 10/2 release date.

Also, I was in Walmart today and they had already put out the Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace re-releases. These were non-combo packs at $9.96 with no movie cash.

Best Buy Bond end cap:

The two Craig films are $2 more expensive? Way to milk it, Best Buy.

Re: James Bond Update

Well, every store in the state of Oregon has this in... except mine. Since there's free shipping, might as well just order it online rather than taking the chance the store near me gets it in.

BTW, what's the difference online between the $9.99 version and $14.99?

Re: James Bond Update

Damn, so tagged at $14.99 so upgrade and save isn't useful

EDIT: Nevermind, noticed the $9.99 up on Best Buy's website now. I wonder if I can do in-store pickup now and use the upgrade and save coupons.

Re: James Bond Update

Okay, I bought the entire Bond 50 BD set from a few weeks ago.

I know alot of you aren't buying that set and are only picking up select titles.

What are these "Exclusives" that some of you keep mentioning? The content on all the discs are the same right? You're all talking about certain titles being exclusive to either Walmart or Best Buy?

For those who didn't buy the Bond 50 set, was it because of the price or did you already have alot of Bond BDs and you didn't feel like double dipping the titles? Or are there titles you simply didn't like and have no interest in re-watching?

I like the entire series, yeah there are a few that don't have alot of replay value, but I feel like I need to be completist with Bond.

(and for the record, I triple dipped on these titles. Got the old MGM SE DVD Box sets and then the FOX SE DVD box sets as well) Plus, I have the Casino Royale deluxe edition 3-disc DVD and Quantum of Solace 2-disc FOX DVD.

The exclusives are the 9 titles that weren't previously released on BD. They were released as part of the set, but Target, Best Buy and Walmart are getting 3 each as exclusives for now.

I'm fairly certain they're the same discs, but I can't confirm.

They're the exact same discs, just in individual keepcase packaging rather than bundled together in the box set.

I wanted to get the Bond 50 set but I already owned all the ones that were previously released including the 2 Craig ones so I felt it was a waste.

While I had a few DVD's it was lower cost over all purchasing the "Bond 50" set during release week at a lower cost than purchasing the 10 missing title from my collection and I would still had a mix of DVD / Blu-Ray.. This way I now have all Bond movies on Blu.

Same here also. I tried to sale the 14 titles which also included "Never Say Never Again" for $100 on local CL but never got any offers. What offers I did get were for only "Never Say Never Again". I could not figure out why that was until I checked online and seen it was Out of Print and what it was going for.

As tempting as it might be, I'm a completest so when I get those 3 BB Bond movies, I'll have them all (unofficial NSNA included).

4 different Targets today and all I could get was Tomorrow Never Dies. Not sure if I should be getting worried.

Re: James Bond Update

That's what is great about Bond 50...not worrying about piecing together a collection.

Yes. They're not on Target's website and only one of the Targets I visited actually had shelf space for them.

But not so great for those of us that already have all the other ones and don't want to deal with selling and rebuying.

Yeah, one of my Targets had them last week, but I couldn't even find shelf tags at a different one today. Oddly enough, they did have one of the other stand alone releases (Die Another Day, I think). I'm not too worried though, I think all Target's will eventually get them. Or eventually stop being exclusive.
