Now I am going to decide if I want to cancel my order or just buy a cheap player to hack and make region free.
Just came to post this. hoping for a US release soon.

Edit- King of New York is apparently locked as well.

Re: The Official Arrow Blu-ray Thread

Disappointing news about Demons. I'm not as surprised about King of New York since there already is a Blu-ray for it in the U.S.

Re: The Official Arrow Blu-ray Thread

Now that's disappointing. I had my copies pre-ordered and everything.

I've went ahead and cancelled them. If I end up investing in a Region Free player (which seems more and more likely as time goes on), then I'll gladly snag them.

You should look into one of the Insignia models, mine was $79.

The prices are actually reasonable, it's just that the first Demons has an insane list price of £27.99. Amazon's £16.99 price (before VAT) is thus 60% off. Demons 2, with a list price of £15.99, is 25% off at £11.99.

Good to know. Too bad being region locked just stopped that pre-order from happening.

It's a shame that the Demons films will be region locked. I still have my pre-order set, but if the price doesn't drop closer to the release date, I might end up canceling and wait for a future sale.

I received my Arrow order this week! I'm really looking forward to watching at least one of them tonight.

Make sure you replace their horrible commissioned art with one of the original theatrical posters on the reverse side.

Re: The Official Arrow Blu-ray Thread

Would you buy a Demons 1 and 2 Blu-ray steelbook double-pack?

If they used the Japanese art posted on the fourth page and it was cheaper than both separately, then yes. A numbered limited set (500?) would be a nice touch too.

Re: The Official Arrow Blu-ray Thread

A Note on Limited Editions:
Limited Edition Slipbox releases will be limited to 2000 copies.

We’ve crunched the numbers from past sales, future pre-orders, comments from the forum, Facebook and Twitter and are happy with this conclusion. Special cases like SteelBooks and special limited editions (like Battle Royale) will not affect manufacture quantities of the Limited Editions.

From August onwards releases will be announced with both the Limited and the Unlimited Editions available at the same time. Where possible Unlimited Editions will be Dual Format DVD and Blu-ray.
Also, it looks like there will be a steelbook two-pack of Demons, but as it will only feature the ugly commissioned art and not one of the theatrical posters, I'll pass. Seriously, if you're not going to use one of the original designs, at least come up with something that doesn't look like a crude, ugly sketch scribbled on a notebook by a junior high kid during math class. Arrow consistently create the worst cover art in the business, but at least they usually include poster art on the flipside.

Re: The Official Arrow Blu-ray Thread

Should've gone with original artwork...

or better yet, keep the plain black steelbook, but just have the yellow "Demoni" title, with an image of the mask from the first film.

Re: The Official Arrow Blu-ray Thread

I picked up a copy of The Beyond when I was in NYC this past week. I only skimmed through a bit to make sure I got the corrected version (I did), but the film looks really great, and the packaging is second to none.

I didn't know stores sold UK product - did you go to Kim's? I'm not even sure if they're still around, but I used to love browsing their colorful shelves as I kid when I'd visit my brother.

Re: The Official Arrow Blu-ray Thread

Yep, Kim's. They moved to 1st between 7th and St. Marks. Much smaller location, no more bootlegs, but the prices were decent after using a Yelp check-in offer good for 20% off all imported BDs and DVDs. I snagged The Beyond for $20.89 after taxes. I know it's cheaper on Amazon UK, but I don't mind supporting Kim's since the store is still awesome.

I almost picked up the Shameless release of Four Flies on Grey Velvet, but even 20% off the $35.99 price was too high to justify.

On second thought, I think I'm going to cancel my pre-orders for the individual releases and just go for the steelbook, ugly art be damned - I'll be saving six pounds and some shelf space. What are other folks doing?

I'm doing the same. I just can't justify spending extra money on the same films.

Re: The Official Arrow Blu-ray Thread

FYI: Amazon dropped the price on Demons to 11.99 GBP. In addition, Amazon dropped the price on the Demons / Demons 2 limited edition steelbook to 16.99 GBP after shipping.

I'm trying to decide what to do. There's a ten dollar difference between buying the films separately and in the steelbook. Yet both are limited editions (the separate releases are set to 2,000 each whereas there's no published number for the steelbook).

Sigh.

I just ordered a region-free copy of The Funhouse along with Tenebre. Good deal with BOGO.
