Howling Trilogy(III/V/VI) (October 19, 2010)

If the commentary is included on III, I might pick this up. Too bad New Moon Rising still hasn't seen a US disc release. It's up there with the best of the worst.

How is that a trilogy? Parts 3, 5 and 6? What about 4?

Yeah, there's just 7. I think I spotted some movie on amazon germany that was trying to sell itself as a part 8, though.

Ha, when you only own the rights to three sequels, not in sequential order, market it as you will.

They did it last year, too, with a collector's edition tin that I wasn't aware of.

It's owned by a different company.

Here's the one from Germany that was trying to sell itself as another entry in the series.

WOW so now TMG is getting into Blu. I have a feeling these will be some of the WORST transfers in BR history. I hope they release A Haunting: The Complete Series (and Echo Bridge release the 2 specials)

Good news is maybe we can get all those Asylum movies they own on BR now

I had looked that up at one point and had completely forgot. I own that Hotter Than Hell set and The Strangers is another forgettable movie.

I'll probably be in for this if it's cheap.

I have the Howling III: Marsupials on DVD and it's pretty hilarious.

Maybe this will make M-G-M release Howling & Howling II on Blu. Echo Bridge owns Howling IV so maybe they will release a BR of it in the future.

Re: Howling Trilogy(III/V/VI) (October 19, 2010)

Its amazing how one great movie can spawn 6 (7) crap fests.

Too bad we never got a sequel even remotely on par with the original.

The 7th one is unwatchable. It has literally an hour worth of line dancing footage in a cowboy bar. I think a werewolf finally shows up in the final minute!

THE HOWLING REBORN is shooting next month; apparently a reboot or unrelated movie.

Part III is the only film I've ever quit on in four years of the Horror Challenge. I think I'll stay away from the later "sequels".

In some commentary or interview, Joe Dante said that when he hired Christopher Lee for Gremlins 2, the first thing Lee did was apologize for doing The Howling II.

As far as Howling II goes, the closing credits are really the highlight.

I like VI and the whole traveling sideshow. I and VI would be the only two that I would recommend. VII if someone wants to see a laughably bad movie.
