Ichi The Killer (2001)- 4K Restoration (Well Go USA)
After the Media Blasters/Tokyo Shock screw up, I've always been hoping for a better release of this film.
No announcement for a Blu-Ray yet but some interesting news to mull over:
Empire Motion Pictures worked on a 4K Restoration of the Director's Cut. Stated that the Source Materials were in poor condition, shot on Beta later converted to 35mm.
Well Go USA acquired the rights to this Restoration.
The first announced Screening of the 4K Restoration will be on 11/10/17 in New York at the Metrograph, with a roll-out to specialty theaters over the next few months in North America.

Awesome, I love the movie but stayed away from the current Blu due to awful reviews. I'm very curious what kind of results they can get with shoddy materials.

I currently have the Dutch DVD Release and the Media Blasters/Tokyo Shock (Unrated) DVD Release.
Crossing my fingers that Well Go USA plans to release this on Blu-Ray!
