While the Mondo posters are nice, and vastly more interesting than the usual photoshop floating head designs, I really wish they would put out steelbooks here with classic key art instead of new designs.
Especially when, with something like Flash Gordon, there was some spectacular Amsel art that's only ever been used once back in the early snapper case days (not counting previous formats). In fact, whoever did the Mondo lifted most of the same source images Amsel used and just re-orientated them. That's how effective the original illustration was.

In spite of the poor reviews, the $5 birthday money BB sends was too much temptation to spend it on something I didn't need

The Last Ship season 1. Bought it from Best Buy tonight. Had them match Amazon's price of $24.

Really? No extras? None? So I have to go and find the SECOND DVD version to see the extras? And you still didn't fix the spelling errors in the subtitles? I "spake" as a child? Was any effort put into this at all? And only 2.0 Japanese audio?! No subtitles on the credits? Why isn't the menu just blowing a raspberry?
On the plus side the audio is lossless (the English bitrate jumps up and down like a rabbit on cocaine, but the Japanese, though only 2.0 is LPCM and fairly high), and the bitrate for the visuals is high, and the original music is used, and it's the non Lucas-ized original, so there's that. And that's something to celebrate, I suppose.
I am really getting spoiled and have an expectation that Blu-rays will have lossless audio and am starring to get bent out of shape when they don't . Haggard-looking transfer, but that does kind of tie in to the charm of the film, a dated and overlong but immensely enjoyable action picture which cast a huge shadow over the genre which continues today.

I'll likely regret the Francos. But they are limited and were available with a good discount from DD with the last expired coupon. I figured it was either now or never.

I think it's cool that Torchur has such an extensive collection. I wish I had that much disposable income.
But geez, are you ever going to sit down and watch them at some point?
