^ that should say 2 hrs and 25 minutes, and it is in sd and looks pretty crappy.(almost 2 and a half hours)

I just watched all 5 hours and it was great.
this is the US release, unrated uncut.
Looked fine to me but I'm sure someone will be able to find something wrong.

Too bad the doc's not in HD and place on a separate disc.

I liked the screenshots I saw for the US theatrical cut so, if the international cut looks just as good, I'm not worried about the transfer.

How's the audio?

Audio was very good.
Plenty of rumble and subtle sounds throughout.

Great to read that it caters to the quiet and loud ends of the spectrum.

I can't wait for my copy to arrive.

Interesting. Too bad I didnt see your message sooner, as my preorder for the american release has shipped, and the UK edition has shipped as well. We'll see what reviews say before I determine which one to keep.

Re: Red Cliff Blu ray which edition?

So Magnolia is releasing four versions? There's an International Version and a Theatrical Version in addition to their releasing Part I and Part II separately.

Yeah, that wont confuse people.

Re: Red Cliff Blu ray which edition?

Has anyone seen a better price on the international version than Amazon's $25+?

Thanks.

The UK version is cheaper. Though I don't think $25.49 is too much to ask for a nigh 5 hour movie.

Re: Red Cliff Blu ray which edition?

Can anyone fully confirm if the international cut has that feature length "making of" Doc that the Theatrical has?

I agree, the $25.49 actually for two movies. In china it was released part 1 first, after 6 months came out part 2.

My copy from Amazon.com is sitting on my doorstep right now. Anyone see any comparisons between the UK international version, and the US international version? Thsi one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cliff-Specia...9365185&sr=8-1 and this one: http://www.amazon.com/Red-Cliff-Inte...9365247&sr=8-1

Re: Red Cliff Blu ray which edition?

Fry's had one copy of the Int.cut (and one copy of the edited version), and it was unwrapped - it had the sticker-seal on top, but no plastic wrap. The discs were still in there though. I picked it up, it was only $24.

My preordered copy from Amazon came the same way. No wrap, but stickers on the front and across the top.

Re: Red Cliff Blu ray which edition?

I checked the case, the international one includes all the features of theatre edition. But the theatrical one has English audio.

Re: Red Cliff Blu ray which edition?

I was surprised that on Best Buy's site Both the SD and BD versions cost the exact same $.

Isn't unusual? Don't BR normally cost at least a LITTLE more than SD?

On amazon..BR cost less than the SD sometimes...which is a great selling point.
