Anybody see any good brick and mortar prices for UHF this week?

I can't imagine any B&M carrying this except for maybe Fry's.

Amazon would be your best bet.

Blowitoutahere has Monkey Shines for $15.13. FWIW
They also had Dark Half, but that seems to have disappeared.

Zia Records (located in AZ and NV) had a few copies, but they sold out within two days. I picked up the last copy for $18.99 (or free after the credit I had with them) at one of the two NV locations last Wednesday night.

Ahh, another Zia patron on this forum! Yes, Zia has a very good selection of cult/horror films released by boutique labels.

It depends on the distributor. While most cult and horror films are easy to find there (I've picked up most of my Troma discs there with credit), other independent fare is still hard to find. Zia isn't carrying Mood Indigo (released by Drafthouse/Cinedigm) at any location as I was trying to purchase that at the same time as UHF.

On another topic, I love how the shitheads at Blu-ray.com are trying to justify their purchase of Shout's upcoming release of Supernova.

FYI, Amazon has the UHF blu-ray for $14.59 today. I believe that's the lowest it's ever been.

A documentary about the messed up production could be interesting. Though obviously, no one in Hollywood is going to want to talk about that.

re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread

Looks like Sleepaway Camp II & III are coming!

From Scream Factory's FB Page:

"Angela" is coming back to Scream Factory...

Next Summer we are planning to release Blu-ray Collector's Editions of both SLEEPAWAY II: UNHAPPY CAMPERS & SLEEPAWAY CAMP III: TEENAGE WASTELAND. Both films were requested heavily after we released the original this past May. No details to report at this time on extras, transfers, artwork etc.

As we start to wind down for the holidays (we will be out of the office from 12/24 - 1/5) we wanted to share with you this exciting news beforehand. We thank you for your loyal and undying support this crazy year (over 40 releases!) and we hope to entice you with more greatness and rediscoveries in 2015.

Oh man I'm excited!! Now I can finally retire my Anchor Bay DVD set. Hope they can reinstate all of the deleted gore for both films!

Awesome news. Those are some fun sequels. Hoping it's a double feature, though.

They mentioned they will be Collector's Editions, which will probably mean they will be separate releases. I don't think Scream Factory has done a Double-Feature for any of their Collector's Editions.

I'm a little anxious to see what kind of extras they will dig into for both films.

The only things not ported over is the interactive menu (which was awesome) and Al popping on screen during the middle of the commentary. Everything else is there.

Thanks, I'm ok with letting go of the DVD then.

I wouldn't be so hasty. There were some easter eggs (including extra deleted scenes) on the DVD (see DVDCompare on how to access them) that weren't ported over according to reviews.

From the HTF Review:

"Most of the special features from the 2002 MGM DVD release have been ported over, with one notable addition and one glaring omission. Although listed on the cover and on press release materials, none of the Easter Eggs from the 2002 DVD have been ported over (such as Al telling you that a particular feature is on the other side of the disc, or making a surprise visit from the bottom of the screen during the commentary track). In fact, there are absolutely no Easter Eggs to be found here (Shout! Factory has responded, indicating that at the last minute they were unable to include them on this release, but did not have enough time to remove them from the artwork or press releases)."

Checked out my screener of Supernova tonight. The movie still sucks and the A/V isn't impressive. Decent 25-minute featurette blasting the shoot's problems though.

Oh, man, the a/v is shit. All that blue filtering makes it look abysmal. Plus, it really is just a terrible film. I can't imagine why Scream bothered with it, but at least bad movies make for easy writing.

Howling II was just announced. I think EFNY was announced a while ago.

Isn't Howling II one of the worst sequels in the series? Some of these recent acquisitions by Scream are kind of puzzling.

All of the sequels to The Howling are kind of crap, aren't they? From what I remember, they're all just generic werewolf flicks with no continuity between them whatsoever; though one of them, either 4 or 5, is sort of a remake of the original, or at least another adaption of Brandner's novel.

I never felt the need to own any of the sequels.

There are people that will buy sequels because of the familiar name or because they are completists. If not for them, very few sequels would ever be released because most suck.

I'm just glad they are not forcing the sequels on us as more expensive mutli-movie sets. I got the Halloweeen box for free out of that misprice fiasco. Otherwise I would have never bought the set given it includes Resurrection and the extended cuts of the Zombie movies. It would also have to be real cheap because it has 4 and 5 in there. Movies I would have never bought on their own.
