re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread

I bought my copy of Ginger Snaps Canadian SE dvd on ebay years ago, forget how much I paid for it, but I will gladly double dip for a new transfer, new interviews with the cast and crew,(especially Katharine Isabelle, yum) etc.
I hope the cover isn't too crappy looking though

Wonderful news about Ginger Snaps. Hopefully they release the sequels as well.

Great news for DEADLY EYES, which never even had a DVD release. One of my favorite guilty pleasures, and my 30 year-old VHS copy will gladly be upgraded.

BREAKING: NEW TITLE ANNOUNCEMENT FOR 2014!

We're thrilled to report today that we are planning to release Brian DePalma's classic 1974 film PHANTOM OF THE PARADISE sometime in the later half of the Summer!

This marks the first time the film will be on blu-ray for the first time in the U.S. and Canada. Expect this to be in the "Collector's Edition" series with new extras but we have no other details to report at this time as our deal for this was literally just signed so stay tuned here in the Spring of next year for more info to emerge.
fuck yes!

I have the French Blu-Ray of Phantom, which looks pretty good to me, but I am curious to see what Shout! will produce.

**BREAKING: TWO TITLE ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR 2014!**

Fans of early 80s school-themed horror films are in luck with this news. 1981's college campus slasher film FINAL EXAM and 1982's satanic revenge epic EVILSPEAK (starring Clint Howard) will both be making their debuts on Blu-ray both for the first time this Summer!

These titles have been with Code Red - another long-time cult film home entertainment company - for some time and we are pleased that we were able to make a deal with them for these two guilty pleasures.

Expect the same extras that were on the prior Code Red DVD releases to be imported over. More details on street date and if any more extras are planned will be revealed in the new year.

fuck code red. glad scream factory got ahold of these. hopefully they got some more like DEAD PIT and SWEET SIXTEEN.

And with that, I'm glad that I didn't break down and buy Code Red's DVD of Evilspeak...

2014 seems like it's going to be a massive, massive year for Shout/Scream factory. I'm so impressed and excited.

Really excited about Evilspeak but I won't be upgrading my DVD of Final Exam.

Scream Factory needs to get Rituals & Nightmare from Code Red.

Looks like Werner Herzog's Nosferatu is up for pre-order at Amazon with a May 20th release. No word as to whether it has both versions or not.

Shout was asked that on FB, and they replied that the current plan is to include both versions. Hopefully they stick to that plan...

No chance this would be a DVD/Blu type release is there? Is it just strictly a Blu release?

Shit I don't know if I should get rid of my Herzog dvd's now while they still have some value or wait longer to make sure Shout Factory doesn't fuck this up.

Scream Factory is proud to present a wild slate of mayhem in June that includes werewolves, haunted houses and even ninja possession!

Think of a mix between The Exorcist, Flashdance and Enter the Ninja and you'll get the idea behind the 1984 quasi-horror exploitation hit, NINJA III: THE DOMINATION. Releasing on 6/11 on a DVD & Blu-ray combo pack, this is the first time ever this crowd-pleasing exercise in the bizarre has been released on either format and in anamorphic widescreen from a new transfer. Extras are still in development to be announced at a later date.
Just picked up Ninja III, was a huge fan as a kid. I need to pay closer attention to some of these threads because I had no clue about most of these releases. I spent almost 30 minutes going back through the last year of posts seeing all the releases we're getting from these guys. To repeat what someone else said, this company is going to get way too much of my money in the next few months.

Assuming this was just a wish list, I would REALLY like to see The Keep get the deluxe treatment on blu-ray. I still have my VHS copy of this movie because they never released it on DVD. Some of you will say it's because the movie was utter shite, but I thought it was pretty creepy, and that's even after the suits butchered it. There is supposedly alot of footage out there that was cut in order to trim it down to size which IMHO ruined it for alot of people.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Keep_%28film%29
The film, extensively cut by the studio from its original over three hours of runtime to just over one-and-half hour, was given a limited release theatrically in the United States by Paramount Pictures on December 16, 1983.
There's even an online petition to get this released on blu-ray (only 142 signatures)

http://keepfilm.com/#signed

There really needs to be a Director's Cut of The Keep, restoring all the footage that was cut. The book is phenominal, I'd like to see how the full/uncut movie would turn out.

Ian McKellen
Scott Glenn
Jürgen Prochnow
Gabriel Byrne
Music by Tangerine Dream

Alot of good names in this movie.
