But again, they are some pretty sweet new illustrations. Kudos to the art director and illustrator.
Well, I partially agree. I would have been a sucker for these steelbooks had they utilized original poster art or even the far superior designs used for the slipcovers on "Escape From New York" and "They Live." From what I gather, they are producing 10,000 units of each??? Muah ha ha ha ha...Good luck, Scream Factory! Maybe I'll pick 'em up when they are less than $10...nah, probably not.

I have well over 300 steelbooks and little if any interest in obtaining these. Like most of Sony's Pop Art Line, these are poorly executed and unappealing. A few of the "Pop Art" steelbooks are somewhat inspired..."Pineapple Express," "Bram Stokers Dracula" and "Lawrence of Arabia" come to mind. However, Universal is still trying to unload their "Iconic Images" and "Comic Book" steelbooks many years after their release. Someone needs to research what the COLLECTORS desire and check out what Zavvi and others have done so successfully. I guarantee this: Poor sales are gonna be blamed on fading interest rather than piss poor execution. This is simply an arrogant money grab. I'll pass. What a missed opportunity!

I just got Streets of Fire yesterday.

The new 1 hour 40 minute making of documentary on disc 2 is excellent.

Really comprehensive film. They interview most of the key people behind the movie. Walter Hill is even interviewed along with Michael Pare.

Unfortunately no Diane Lane, Rick Moranis or Willem Dafoe.

Watch it if you picked it up.....but I know most of this forum is severely backlogged on their BD's, so I assume most of you won't watch it right now.

If I picked it up today, I might get to watching it by 2020.

^ I received mine today, we just watched it. Every bit as entertaining as I'd remembered...

I have the Director's Cut on VHS, that's how I'd watched it in the past, wouldn't dream of watching the "theatrical" version, can't imagine what they chopped out of it to turn it into a 108 min. movie. The Director's Cut is the only way to watch The Lawnmower Man.

And the DC looks good? No problems with footage or something...

There's a message at the beginning of the movie which mentions potential jump cuts where DC footage was integrated back into the movie, but unless you're really anal about it you won't notice. I didn't, nor did my wife.

Anyone like Trespass?

Bill Paxton squares off with Ice-T in this underrated 1990s action thriller. Shout ports over the DVD's scant extras and adds new interviews with William Sadler, a co-writer and the film's guns master.

Apparently Paxton was scheduled for an interview before his passing but never got to record it.

Have Lawnmower Man set to go this weekend. Really don't remember much about it from what I saw on the menu screen. Looking forward and hope to get to those great interviews. Too bad no Brosnan though. Is there a reason? Does he want to put this behind him for some reason? It wasnt too much of a bomb was it? At least it seems it has a big cult following...

Another new announcement, George A. Romero's Land of the Dead arrives on October 24th. Personally I'm not the biggest fan of it but it's an okay movie and I might get it when the price drops.

It'd be cool if they got the rights to Dawn of the Dead and did a new version of the four disc DVD set that came out years back with the different cuts and extras. I'd still also like to see the original Night of the Living Dead get a proper release too.

There are indications that Criterion will have you covered sooner rather than later.

I was thinking that Criterion wouldn't do NOTLD because it's public domain and other companies could use their restoration.

I mean I get that but honestly it deserves a proper restoration by someone. It's crazy that one of the most iconic horror films was allowed to slip into the public domain.
