My Poltergeist II and III BD's arrived in the mail today (ordered directly from Shout)
Haven't had a chance to go through them yet. Love that they arrive so early!! This is 19 days before official street date.

overjoyed for Slither. thing i got the Canadian version. hope there is some great extras including commentary with Fillion and Gunn.

Hoping they include the Director's Cut which wasn't ever released on DVD. The extra footage doesn't make it a great film but it, IMHO, makes it a much better film and I'll be more than happy to retire the DVD-R made from my LaserDisc copy of it.

Some more details about Slither and Lawnmower Man:
That would be cool if they can get the Director's Cut of Lawnmower Man. Shout/Scream is usually good at attempting to put it together if the elements are available.

Add me to the list of people STOKED for Slither. Love that movie.
I really hope the release of Colors means more Dennis Hopper directed films are coming. I would cry tears of joy if they released a top notch Collectors Edition of "Out of The Blue". Also, even though Hopper is dead, I think a lot could be done with "The Last Movie". Who knows what kind of cuts are floating around out there for it.

I hope The Lawnmower Man doesn't look like garbage. Due to its crude FX, the movie has always looked terrible. It wasn't great-looking in theaters and DVD editions have been mediocre.

Extras announced for Firestarter. Unfortunately Shout couldn't get Drew Barrymore, Martin Sheen or David Keith to participate.
I already pre-ordered it from the Shout website a few months ago.

I watched the new release of BLACK CHRISTMAS last night (better late than never), and it is a revelation compared to all the old, shoddy, compressed-to-hell old releases. The grain stucture is excellent, organic, and it seems no smoothing has been applied (hooray!).
BTW: Let's get some new meat on Blu, all these announcements have already been released in some form in 1080p already, I wish we'd get some new content out there, or that Scream would license such... I'm only going to get DEADTIME STORIES because it's a actual *new* release in glorious 1080p, and a much-appreciated one. All the others = skip.
Glad beyond belief that we're finally getting PARENTS in 1080p thanks to Lionsgate! A holy-grail has been fulfilled! I was sure that Shout would license it, but no, we've got 100 retreads coming up from them!

Per the Blu-ray.com forums, Steve Johnson let it slip on some podcast that he worked on some new extras for Species, so looks like we'll finally get the first film to complete that series.

Just a heads up that there's something wrong with the mono audio on Black Christmas. Shout is sending replacement disks but they aren't advertising the issue.

Oh yea, it sounds absolutely terrible. But, honestly, the 5.1 mix adds so much atmosphere and an immersive feeling to the film, heightening the creepy factor, that I can't imagine going with the mono.

More Shout news today:
No matter how many times Game of Death gets upgraded with more extras, 4K transfer etc. It's still a horrible movie.
I will not purchase it again.
I have not purchased any of these new Shout 4K transfers yet. I have so much Bruce content already and even if the video is greatly improved, I just don't feel like spending anymore money on these movies.
We are happy to announce the release of Return of the Dragon and Game of Death this coming May. As with Fists of Fury and The Chinese Connection, these are new 4k scans, restored from the original negative. Stay tuned to our facebook page for pre-orders and more info soon!
