Apparently the Best Buy version comes in an exclusive collector's tin or something.

Can't decide if I want to spend the $60 to get the special set now... or wait many months and then some to get the normal set for a lot cheaper.

I can't wait! I've already sold off all my DVDs of these movies. I have some reward zone certificates, so it will help cut down on the price gap.

I'm going to stop in at Best Buy tomorrow and see if the rumours of special packaging are true, but if they aren't I can definitely wait until June for $20+ cheaper.

Amazon matches Walmart price at $39.86. I think I'm going to pm at BB tomorrow when I pick up The Princess and the Frog & God of War III Ultimate Edition.

Please post back if either (1) it has a special packaging or (2) you can get it pricematched.

I've bought enough versions of Oldboy already (6 - at full price) that I'm in no hurry to shell out an extra $20 to have it early this time!

Nice packaging + pricematch would be awesome though! Would also be good to hear how many they have in stores

I would rather wait as well, it is about a $23 difference with taxes applied. I am not good at this type of patience however, I have a feeling if I let myself go over to BB to take a look at it Tuesday morning I will come home with one.

I've put in the pre-order at amazon just to lock the price in. I'll probably swing my Best Buy tomorrow after work to check out the packaging to see if there is anything special about.

I'm going to Toys R Us to get Princess and the Frog in the AM, Best Buy is next door. I have every intention of buying this tomorrow, price be damned. We'll see if I follow through.

The artwork on BestBuy.com looks different from the bright red promo artwork that accompanied the info sheet -- so, maybe.

Best Buy also has the red cover up for the DVD set. I imagine the DVD is red for all retailers and the Blu-ray set is Blue for all retailers. It remains to be seen whether there is actual exclusive packaging at Best Buy...at least until tomorrow morning.

Re: Park Chan-wook's Vengeance Trilogy -- March, 2010 from Palisades/Tartan

Did anyone pick this up at their local BB yet?

Searching my area all are showing "Unavailable". Which (I think) means there are less than 3 or that it is flat out not in the store.

Re: Park Chan-wook's Vengeance Trilogy -- March, 2010 from Palisades/Tartan

shows up "unavailable" at all 4 stores within 10 min drive for me--i was gonna just stop by the store but i'm not gonna bother getting my kids in & out of the car just to find out they don't have any

i've never been a Best Buy hater but it's getting ridiculous on the amount of stuff they aren't carrying in the store--guess i'll just place my preorder at Amazon for the regular set that come out in June

Not to sway you one way, but there are many times at Best Buy that items show "Unavailable" when the quantity is less than 3 on-hand.

I remember buying Night Of The Creeps there on BD and it said "Unavailable" in the Store Search, but there was 1 copy on the shelf when I actually went to the store. Items that BB is not carrying will just show up right away as "Not Available For Store Pickup", which doesn't even give you an option for Store Search.

I'm actually pretty sure that no Best Buy stores have received this yet. Especially considering it automatically went on backorder on their website.

I got to my local Best Buy right before they opened, and they didn't have any.

It's kinda sad to say this, but you can usually search on eBay to see if an exclusive has hit stores or not. Couldn't find anything.

All stores in the metro Atlanta area are also showing 'Unavailable'.

Re: Park Chan-wook's Vengeance Trilogy -- March, 2010 from Palisades/Tartan

went ahead and checked out the closest BB to me and of course none found--had someone check to see if any of the stores had one and of course no one did

if this is a case of it being delayed on Tartan's end then fine but otherwise i'm done w/ Best Buy

I stopped in at Best Buy and not only did mine not have any, but when the employee pulled up the results I could see that none of the Best Buys nearby (I saw about ten stores listed) had received any either.

I don't think this exists. I ordered it on Amazon. Screw BB for their ridiculous prices on items that don't exist.
