When are we gonna see Live Free or Die Hard Unrated on Blu Ray?

Does anyone have any possible leads on this one? Its such a tragedy they screwed this up the first time. Or, perhaps, we are just waiting for the inevitable double dip?

Eh, I'm fine with the PG-13 cut on Blu-ray (even though I do own the Unrated DVD in steelbook).

The Unrated just adds come CGI blood and some (awful) ADR'd profanity.

Re: When are we gonna see Live Free or Die Hard Unrated on Blu Ray?

Actually, the Unrated Cut adds a bit more than that. It's a whole different edit of the film. The cheesy "You're that guy now" stuff is gone as our a few other bits.

I think that the blood effects that are added to the Unrated Cut where created in standard def only. Which means that they'd have to re-do them if they wanted to release it in 1080p. I'm not 100% sure this is true, so take it with a pinch of salt.

Everyone on the forum takes one for the team at some point in time. I think it's your turn.

I read that was the official reason that version wasn't on the Blu-Ray- it wouldn't look 'good enough' for the format, and they wouldn't be able to seamlessly branch it with the HD transfer of the theatrical movie.

Is that the kind of forward-thinking we can expect from "20th Century Fox"?

The chance of Fox going back to re-release a title with a few extra minutes is not likely going to happen. Unless we get a Die Hard 6, don't count on it.

From Fox? lol

They'll probably rerelease the same discs with new artwork in a year or so.

I saw the PG-13 rated version in the theater and thought it was pretty hokey when the audio said Gosh darn gee whillikers and his lips were saying F**K! I'm hoping that this will one be released in the harder version as well as Pearl Harbor.

Really? I must not have been paying attention or my memory is bad (both are good possibilities) because I don't remember the the uncut version being any different other than the profanity and blood.

FYI, this is not fixed in the Unrated version. All the awkward ADR in the PG-13 version must have been fixing production audio rather than covering up language, because it's the same thing in the long version.

All of those changes noted on Movie-Censorship, as others have noted, really don't add up to much. Whenever Bruce has his mouth covered or obscured, they dub in a "fuck", and there's terrible, fake-looking CG blood. Personally, I don't mind the PG-13 cut. If they'd made it as an R and cut it to a PG-13, I'm sure the R version would be better, but they clearly made it on the border between a PG-13 and an R (a few "motherfuckers" and "fucks" is really all the R content here) and then tried to artificially beef it up to the level of the other Die Hards. I mean, the R-rated lines in Die Hard are fuinny, the profanity is worked into the dialogue, it's not just one-syllable yells peppered throughout the movie.

One-syllable yell sounds like a Billy Idol song.

Anyone take a chance on this version yet?
http://www.amazon.com/Extreme-Action...dp/B002G1WPK4/

According to other sites, it's unrated:
Quote:
This triple feature obliterates the PG-13 rating to deliver hardcore action. In the based-on-a-videogame thriller HITMAN, a bald Timothy Olyphant emulates the tonsorial taste of Bruce Willis, but the actor keeps his hair when he faces off against Bruno's John McClane as the villain of LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD: UNRATED. Meanwhile, Keanu Reeves maintains the mane in the gritty police drama STREET KINGS. See individual titles for complete details.
There are NO reviews anywhere that I can find. I found specs on eBay that list ALL the same extras from the previous BD/DVD's + DTS. Might be worth a double-dip.
