Braveheart blu ray uk+usa cut ?

hi please can anyone cofirm if the blu ray braveheart USA version is cut ive been told yes 90 percent and UK version is uncut but im told they are both same and have cuts censorship etc.i was going to buy the USA version as normally its the best choice as they dont cut lots of movies etc.can anyone confirmed who has watched the blu ray if it is cut or uncut ?

1. I think commas are supposed to be in there. It makes it easier to understand what you mean.

2. I dunno. I'm assuming the theatrical is the definitive cut so...yeah.

US version is the final director approved version.

UK version was not cut but substituted a different angle for a shot. The UK Blu-ray Disc finally presents the original US version of the film.

well thats strange ive had e-mail back today at 8pm from 20th century fox who have told the UK version was passed with cuts etc.ive also checked on google and ive read the USA version is also cut etc.i understand what u mean where they change the frames etc but still to alot of people this a cut but its done in clever way.im also sure there are blood spats etc missing even so this film is 15yrs old i reamber it very clear and its great movie and u never forget it etc.Also my friend has the Laserdisc and has compared it to the BLU RAY and he says its 100 percent diffrent and is uncut.why do such big companys try to rip us of with cuts ? i want to see the movie the way it was made for us the people the public with out some IDIOT person who sits on his ass all day in a suit who has no life shouting cut etc take this out blah blah.im sure many movie fans would agree with me.thank u


p.s im sorry if my spelling is a bit wrong but im a lil blind in one eye

just a question on the matter on the disc is TRUE HD 5.1 better than DTS ?

TrueHD and DTS-HS MA are the same quality. The only neglible difference is in the lossy cores 640k vs 1.5mbs DTS but again its a neglible difference.

As the usual from Fox, the internaitonal UK, AUS, and European releases are Region B locked while Paramount caved into pressure and locked the US and Canadian version for Region A.

Its not yet known when Fox will announce the HK and Japanese release.

False alarm...

US version is the complete cut.

Australian and European mainland releases ar the complete cut.

The UK release still uses the replacement angle for one of the scenes.

perish the thought anyone from the UK would purchase a parallel import edition and be morally offended by the explicit throat slashing sequence.

I always chuckle about the UK's standards. For ex. It's a bad thing to show ppl get shot in the kneecaps. T2 for example somehow edits those moments.

UK censors don't care for headbutts either, for awhile they also outright scissored any martial arts movie that featured numchucks... oh and any scene involving animal cruelity implied or explicity shown - nope, not going to show it.

Their choices are as arbitrary as our MPAA guidelines of one "fuck" can still be PG-13, more than one means automatic R. It doesn't make a lick of sense on either side.

I think maybe....the USA side might be more ok with violence. UK might be more ok w/ Language. And for sure we're prude as fuck here when it comes to female/male graphic nudity.

Implied animal cruelty is fine, only actual cruelty is censored -- specifically cruelty that's been "organised or directed" specifically for the film (documentary and stock footage is fine) and inflicts "pain or terror" on the animal. The BBFC's hands are tied here by parliamentary legislation which they interpret as narrowly as possible (for example, the BBFC allows outright animal slaughter if it's done quickly and "humanely").

Headbutts are OK now at the 12A level. The Spider-man 2 Blu-ray has one and it's PG, but I think that just slipped by. Headbutts (like nunchucks) were one of James Ferman's bugbears, after he left they started loosening up.

Braveheart was cut because Paramount wanted a 15 and the BBFC wouldn't give it to them with the throat-cutting scene intact. It wasn't a compulsory edit.
