Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part IV

I know there isn't much love here for Jim Carrey's Grinch, but a "newly remastered" version is coming 10/13/15. I picked up the other version for $5 a couple years ago and would upgrade to this one for the same price if there is that much improvement. The old disc looks pretty bad.

The Mighty Quinn is coming on Sept. 22 from Olive Films.

One of my favorite Denzel Washington flicks.

I have always had a soft spot for The Land Before Time. Hopefully the transfer looks decent.

So is Fatal Instinct from Olive on the same day as it turns out. A very underrated parody film. I just wish they were including subtitles.

Banshee season 3 now pushed back to April 5th.

Weird that it's being released almost 3 months after the final season premieres.

Okay, this is odd. I don't know what consumers were begging for Survivor to be released on BD, but CBS is releasing:

This was a fun series but it has been quite some time since its been on. I'd be surprised if there was that much demand for a BR set.

That's fucking awesome. I haven't seen this for almost 20+ years since it was CBS/FOX Home Video on VHS. Awesome 80's Samurai action movie.

That is a very questionable choice for Blu-ray. CBS doesn't have a huge catalog of product to release on BD but Elementary would have been a better bet.

That is interesting, but being a burn-on-demand disc makes sense. They don't lose that much if it flops, and they can say they tried.

I remember back when Survivor was one of the SD-broadcast holdouts because of issues lugging around large cameras. The show does look great on HD broadcast but I haven't watched an upconverted DVD to see how it looks in comparison.
