Wow. A lot of people really liked "Downloaded." To each his own, I guess. If I'm remembering this episode correctly, I'm pretty sure I hated it when it first aired. As far as I'm concerned, the series peaked with "Pegasus" and "Resurrection Ship Part 1" and "Part 2" (the episodes with Admiral Cain).

Actually, I read in the blu-ray.com forum that Season One will be released on BD in January. I would look for it and post a link but I'm on break, I'll be sure to look when I get off if someone already hasn't.

If you want to buy the seasons separately.....which in the end will probably cost you more overall if you buy them as they are released....

Yeah, I'd say it's a good price, 50% off of list....some people got it even cheaper (around $150-160) back when it was first released since it came out during the same period as a Deep Discount 25% off sale....however, DD's current price is $254, so even if they have another sale in November, it will still be more expensive there by over $15 after discount if the price holds....

I wanna say I got it for $138 during the DDD 20% off sale.

So it's not really THAT great of a deal... but it might be the best you will find now that that sale is long gone.

It got that low? I thought it only sunk to high $150 / low $160.

Well, I got it for $164... then got another 13 and change back when they lowered the price on release day for a few hours... then there was also BING cashback worked into that equation.

I received the UK version last week.

There are some good customer images on the amazon uk site.

It comes with a booklet that contains information on each of the characters, an episode guide and a glossary of terms and phrases used on the show. There is extra space in the box above (the set that is sticking out of the box with the Adamas on the cover) where Season 1 is stored.

The discs are stored in the red trays shown above and there is a card sleeve for each season (one side containing characters from the show and the other with the Galactica seal and the season number). It can be a tight squeeze getting the sleeves back on after you have taken the disc holders out but you get the hang of it.

The dark material that the seasons slide into is sponge with a layer of hard sponge at the front to hold the sets securely.

The photo above is a little misleading: the Cylon image on the front is actually embossed rather than just being painted on.

Overall, I'm pleased with the set but I'd rather it was made out of solid plastic rather than tin: no matter where I order tin blu-ray/dvd sets from, they always seem to arrive with some sort of dent in them. Mine has one on the back but it's only minor.

The US release looks gorgeous in comparison. The UK release seems more practical but the US version looks stunning AND you guys get a Cylon figure (one of the DVD sets here received a figure too but, for some bizarre reason, one wasn't included with the blu-ray set).

Also, the UK release doesn't include 'The Face of the Enemy Webisodes', 'Caprica Pilot', or 'The Plan' but I think the US version is missing those too.

Yes - it really did go that low. $140 was my calculation for what I paid for it on release. Excellent deal for an amazing show.

I was thinking of picking this up during the upcoming sale, but now that they'll begin releasing these next year in separate season packages, do you guys think it would be prudent to get those, packaging-wise?

Also, as my Blu-ray player is the PS3, would the UK discs play in it?

Can I just comment on the fact that it seems like that everybody who does a boxset comparison or box opening never have a tripod. My advice: If you choose to make one of these videos please invest $20 in the tripod, the viewers won't get so seasick and you can actually use both of your hands while going through the process.

The UK release is dubbed differently to the US? How so? I don't think I have ever heard of a US show being dubbed here as we are used to various American accents and have no trouble understanding them. Which characters were dubbed?

Gaius strangely has an American accent and everyone else is British. It's like backwards world!
