The Leopard and The Innocents will be Region B. A real shame, as I'm sure both will look absolutely gorgeous, and I doubt Fox will be giving us HD Innocents any time soon, though The Leopard is of course a possibility from Criterion at some point.

The "Bronson" BD is locked. I asked this a few weeks back. So I bought the SD. Not a great movie btw. I would recommend renting it first one day. When it's available in the U.S. that is.

I'm going to order some of these - not sure yet which ones though... I'm leaning towards Ran, Contempt, The Elephant Man, and Belle De Jour. I would love to get The Deer Hunter as well but it's kind of expensive for me when you factor in that I own the HD DVD release.

As for MOC, Sunrise sounds wonderful, I have never seen it (so it would be a blind buy) but again I am wondering if I should sit this one out - not sure... I know I'm going to place an Amazon.co.uk order soon though. At least I think I'm convinced.

I'm going to order Contempt right now, that packing & cover look fantastic, I must own that in Blu. I'm in the same boat as you on Sunrise, I really want it but I've never seen it. Near $30 at least for me, there is just no way I can spend that much on a blind-buy. I'm sure I will like it, but will I ever watch it again?

Anyone know of a last that has all the UK-Blu's that are Region Free & not available in the US? There is probably one posted here, I just haven't notice it. I see they have The Good, The Bad, & The Weird is that Region free?

For those of you ordering Contempt or Ran, would you please report back to let us know if everything plays and which player you are using? I want to order both titles, but I'm worried about 1080i/50 content in the menus or extras. I'm using a U.S. PS3, so this could cause a problem for me even if the BDs are region free. Thanks.

This list shows most (not all) Region B titles, including those that are available in the US. The site is most useful for checking which titles are region-locked...

Just Netflix the DVD then, and decide after viewing if it's worth owning in HD.

Its Region AB and it has the 5.1 audio (which it was rumoured not to have).

I compared it to the R1 Paramount release an the video is better and audio is much richer. However make a copy of the R1 disc tho just for its extras which are not repeated on the Studio Canal BD.

Criterion owns the rights here in the U.S., so perhaps it'll receive a HD release eventually. The BFI DVD should provide a more than adequate stopgap in the meantime.
