The original Black Christmas is still a very effective horror movie. One I daresay that is overlooked today.

Begin Again

It was better than expected though anything with Mark Ruffalo is usually good.

Eps 4 and 5 from

Still waiting to see why people were down on this season. To my eyes, it keeps going forward and seems as good, as tense, and as surprising as it's ever been. Although not a whole lot has actually happened, I think I'm enjoying this more than the last season.

Had very vague memories of enjoying this the one time I saw it back in the late 80's. Had no plans to pick it up, but as TT's stock started to dwindle I had a change of heart and figured I might as well pick it up, watch it and then sell it off since I wouldn't likely lose much after it was sold out.
Turned out to be a lot more entertaining than I expected/remembered. I'm a big fan of the original, and a little like the '78 Kaufman remake of Body Snatchers, I can see enough value in each of these interpretations to make them worthy of a space on the shelf.
The only problem now is I don't think I wanna sell it after all.

Housebound - and I am glad to say that New Zealand brought the thrills and laughs to this horror/slash comedy. It was great!

Transformers Age Of Extinction. I actually enjoyed this a lot more than the last film, but good golly miss Molly, it is a long one at 2h 45m.

Such a trip to finally see these classics the way they were intended to be. A great horror show, made truly sublime by the added 3D.

The movie starts out interesting, before going in a predictably cheesy direction near the end. I don't think the unrated cut is much different, If I remember correctly.

Winter's Tale. Thought I would only last a few minutes but ended up watching the whole thing. Some typical Hollywood but actually watchable. Not buyable, but watchable.

I agree. It also doesn't help that all the characters including the main one are all unlikeable.

It doesn't seem like much but the main differences are that in the R rated cut there are 2 scenes in which alternate (tamer) footage was shot to substitute the unrated (slightly more graphic) footage.
There is also another scene that involves 2 people that is zoomed in so that you can't see from the waist down in the R version.

I didn't think much of Winter's Tale. I didn't mind the first half so much, but the huge time jump in its narrative was jarring. Russell Crowe was terribly miscast in it.

I think Will Smith was uncredited and he was terrible in that movie.

Snowpiercer started out slow but ended up ok.

I got to see CE3K in 35mm over the summer. It was wonderful. That said, I'd like to see a sequel where Teri Garr has to raise her kids by herself because her husband smashed her house and then blasted off into space for no reason.
