Last BD (or, unrealistically, HD DVD) you watched?

Keep watching it. It's an excellent show. The Blu-ray release, for the record, is downright phenomenal. One of the best for PQ/AQ I have encountered. Tons of activity from the surround speakers and it all blends so nicely.

I've been watching Shaun of the Dead. It looks and sounds great. There's only the faintest amount of ringing and some very minute print flaws. For those with sets that don't have overscan, you'll notice some faint window boxing.
I meant to check Hot Fuzz as well but I'm finding myself engrossed in SotD since it's been a long time since I last watched my DVD copy of this movie.

^ yeah, the window boxing was there on the HD-DVD also.
The Last House on the Left. OK movie.. wasn't a big fan of the original. PQ was really good, AQ was solid.

^ Okay. Glad to read that it isn't some quirk on the BD. I was weirded out cos the clips in the main menu were presented in scope but not windowboxed.
Just finished watching Hot Fuzz . Great picture with nor ringing or print flaws that I could notice. Although not as grainy as Shaun of the Dead, the grain is still very much there and happily no DNR seems to have been applied. The audio is of course great and the surrounds very much alive.
Still not as good a movie as SotD (the playful references are on the obvious side this time around) but it holds up well nonetheless.

Defiance rental from Blockbuster. Actually a pretty good movie. Plenty of action and drama. Good PQ and AQ, recommended.

The Matrix
The Matrix Reloaded
The Matrix Revolutions
All three looked and sounded great. It had been a while since I watched any of these...but the first two still hold up pretty well for me...they both have their weak points...but overall I thoroughly enjoy The Matrix and Reloaded. I watched Revolutions last night and realized that I completely forgot about the constant over-acting and the cheesed up dialogue. The Zion battle looks and sounds great...but man...the dialogue pretty much ruins it.
I'm going to start with the Animatrix tonight...I've never seen it...so I'm looking forward to something new...

Gran Torino, aside from being one of the best films i've seen this year, the PQ & AQ were outstanding as well.
The Spirit, i really had high hopes for this one. I can remember reading the comic many, many years ago but i don't remember it being the awful experience that the film is. The AQ &PQ were great but the film just stunk up the place so badly, I couldn't finish it and had to open a window to air the joint out. Bad movie, plain & simple.

Burned through Lost: Season Three, what a ride. And the season finale...wow. Diggin' into Season Four as we speak.

Taken love this roller coaster ride, plot holes and all.
Pet Peeve; it seems most movies now shoot automotive interiors with a green screen and it's pretty obvious in many cases. C'mon, throw the thing on a truck and get a real outdoors shot.

Gran Torino saw this in the theater and enjoyed it just as much this time around as a rental from Blockbuster
Invincible an early demo disc for Blu-ray and a good movie IMHO
also saw Hollow Man on SD tonight. That would look good in HD. That hot chick from Shooter in an early role is very sexy

How the West Was Won
Wow, just WOW!
You shouldn't be allowed to own a Blu-Ray player, if you don't own this movie.

Lost: Season Four...I can't wait for December, season five will be a day one purchase.
Also watched Gran Torino, what an awesome movie, great picture quality. Loved it!
Just startin' up my Battlestar Galactica: The Complete Epic Series, I can't wait to rewatch it in another marathon. This will be my first time seeing it in High-def beyond Season One, I'm stoked!

Cutthroat Islandpicture B+ sound A
I think the timing and the promotion had more to do with the boxoffice bomb than the quality. It's a pretty entertaining movie and looks great in hi-def.

All kidding aside, I still haven't even seen this film. Based on your strong word alone I will bump it up on my Netflix queue. I want to "be allowed" to own my Blu-ray player.

It's ok GenP, I'll let you slide. But if you aren't into Westerns, you may find the film boring, it's just the pre-CGI kind of epic that will never be made again. The cast doesn't hurt either, a few no name actors like John Wayne, Henry Fonda, James Stewart, Gregory Peck, Richard Widmark, Karl Malden.
