Re: Should I pass on or buy the Spider-man trilogy?

This was the most recent thread talking about this set, so I'm asking here...are the top corners of the box supposed to be rounded like a Blu-ray case? Just got mine from Amazon from the Gold Box deal a month ago, and the top corners are all rounded.

Of the outer box itself? Mine isn't, only the individual cases.

Yeah, the outer box. It's weird because it's apparently dented up, but all four top corners are almost equally smashed in, making it sort of look like it's supposed to be rounded.

Thanks, I'll send Amazon an email - it's probably not worth returning for me, but anybody ever have any luck getting Amazon to do anything about something like this?

If you tell Amazon it arrived damaged, they should send you another no problem, and won't charge you to ship the damaged one back to them. There's a simple form you can fill out on their site. Just go to your order status page and there's a button that says "Need to return an item." I've had a few items from them arrive in poor condition and I've never had a problem getting a replacement.

...

My set from Tower (or was J&R) had dented corners... but the box itself was so crappy that I just tossed it after I took the movies out.

They should have used a sleeve/box combo like the HD-DVD version of the Ocean's Trilogy.

But I have returned things to Amazon before with no problems. I had a set of Sledge Hammer DVDs that had shattered plastic all over inside of it and then swapped it out for me. There return/exchange policy is great.

It almost makes up for them pulling the Price Guarantee.

Almost.

Re: Should I pass on or buy the Spider-man trilogy?

For what it's worth, I ordered this in November from DVDPlanet, and they had to ship me two more because of the dented copies - after the 2nd shipment they notified me that they examined their stock and every set they'd received from the studio was like that - they shipped them all back, got new ones, and sent me a third, which was in great condition. So I think it's a studio problem

Mine was ordered from Amazon and the corners of box is a little dented too. Doesn't bother me too much though. As long as the DVD cases themselves are ok (which they are), I'm happy.
