One of my steelbooks, FYEO, is a 2 disc case. People are reporting on other forums that the cases are mixed up. Go figure.

My best buy had only 3 of each of the Bonds and I went at 11:30 am in the morning so I highly doubt they are still out there. The rep said that the steelbooks were only for first shipments and that the regular blu-ray cases will be in the next shipment. I used the QOS coupon to get all the Connery and Brosnan Steelbooks for 14.99 each.

On another note, the QOS ticket is a lot easier to use on the steelbooks since it is attached to the plastic wrapping. You don't even need to peel since you just have to take the wrapping off and just look on the other side.

I had no hassle price-matching Fry's $16.99 Blu-ray price at Best Buy for their steelbooks. As a matter of fact, the manger that did the override said, "You're not the first one to price match the Fry's ad. We'll do it. No problem."

There was a problem finding "Thunderball" though. Had to hunt for it. The store had only received four copies.

(The store didn't have any single plain Blu-rays versions--just steelbooks and three packs.)

Any success? Cos that damn code simply ruins the great slipcover for Casino Royale.

For people that bought the new Casino Royale Blu-Ray, does it come with the booklet that comes with the Standard Def version? Thanks!

Slipcover for Die Another Day looks perfect now. I was able to remove all of the sticky text.

My Casino Royale slipcover was shrinkwrapped and the sticker was on the outside. Was yours not packaged that way? I bought mine at Best Buy.

Mine was shrinkwrapped but the sticker was on the damn slipcover. I got it at Wal-Mart. Even some stupid Wal-Mart sticker was on the slipcover.

Well, it seems I have my first issue with the Bond BDs. I was going thru all of them tonight and all work perfectly except For Your Eyes Only.

The only difference between this disc and the others is that it had the weird double disc holder inside instead of the normal single one...but that should have anything to do with disc itself.

It starts up and goes thru the red caution illegal message and then tries to go to the main menu but it just sits there with a black picture never actually accesses the menu. None of the buttons work and it just sits there. I am using an LG BH200.

Fuck.

Don't fret. Just exchange it for another one wherever you bought it and see if a different disc works.

I tried my Dr. No disc and it won't play on my computer. Just a black screen. I'll have to try the others.

(On a side note, I tried to go to the website to use the moviecash and I couldn't connect. Anyone else have any problems with that?)

Crap. The From Russia Blue Ray won't play on my computer, either. Same thing - just a black screen (the menu never loads).

Could this just be a problem with my software? (Power DVD 7 Blu Ray edition.)

Yep. All I get is a "did not connect" message.

Using a combo of reward zone certificates, the magnolia audio test coupon, and a Fry's price match, I was able to get all the Connery Bond Blu-rays for $10 a pop. Threw in Dr. No earlier and it looked unbelievable. I may have to go back and get the others price matched, because now I'm hooked.

I got the same thing. No big deal I guess, but I wish I could pop the disc holder and swap it with the Brosnan BD, too afraid of breaking it though.

Likewise for me and Thunderball on PowerDVD 7. It plays on my PS3 fine, though.

Strangely, it'd play on my PS3 if I had it connected to my TV downstairs but not upstairs.

It's weird because these are the first Region 1 steelbook cases that I know of, yet they made some with 2-disc holders, even though all of these are single disc. Are the holders facing each other, or are they overlapping on one side?

The one I got was overlapping, on the lower of the 2 hubs... had to carefully slide it out & snap it onto the upper hub.

My Amazon ones are coming today... I hope they have the movie cash in them (unlike "The Mummy" fiasco).

Remember, there is no movie cash "in" them. There is a code on the sticker on the front of the case (hopefully on the wrapping and not directly on the case). A buddy of mine almost tossed the wrapping not realizing that the code to get the movie ticket is on the back of that sticker.

Appears there are many reports now coming in that For Your Eyes Only is not playing on LG or Samsung dual format players.

I am getting really tired of not having a player out there that can play any and all BDs without a problem. Even dedicated BD players still appear to have hiccups and issues with the occasional disc. It appears the PS3 is the machine that has the fewest disc playing problems and now I kinda regret getting rid of mine for the LG BH200.

the review of the Panasonic BD55 from Sound & Vision sounds like it's the best bluray player on the market with few hiccups in playing back newer discs.

I bought the steelbooks yesterday of Dr. No, From Russia With Love and For Your Eyes Only. Not one of them will play on my Blu-ray player beyond the legal warnings and main menu. Only a black screen as others have reported. I'm wondering whether I need to do a firmware update on my player. Has anyone else with the black screen problems found a solution?
