Yep. Really looking forward to the definitive version of SUSPIRIA. I know it will be a knockout, especially after 3 or 4 very mediocre releases. Incidently, the best of those previous releases, I think, has been the Japanese release, but unfortunately it is a 1080i transfer.
I know Synapse won't disappoint us.
As for TENEBRE, I know there have been many international releases, but no US one. As for PHENOMENA, I own the Arrow release. Although flawed (it was done before Arrow's encoder got their act together and is riddled with compression aftifacts), I enjoyed it immensely, and look forward to a better encode on the horizon.

Re: Blue Underground and Synapse Films to release on Blu-ray
I'd seen the vitriol online beforehand about the UK release of Suspiria, but I'm enough of an Argento fanatic to bite anyway. That was a mistake. The colors and contrast are so fucked that it genuinely was miserable to watch. There are some discs where botched compression, heavy DNR, etc. take me out of a movie and make it difficult to enjoy, but the British release of Suspiria is on a whole other level and is (for me, anyway) genuinely unwatchable.

With Phenomena, who knows at this point.

An update from Don May Jr. Based on the fact that he's about to start working on Suspiria, I'm guessing we'll have this on blu this time next year.

Based on some comments by Don May, it looks like Suspiria is going to be an extensive job. I have no doubt this will be the best release of the film. They've posted some 4k test samples on their facebook page without any color correction or restoration for those who are interested. I really can't wait for this release.

One of my most anticipated releases of 2015... I'm hoping it will put all other editions to shame. And some of those other editions are mighty poor.

Ahhh so annoying. I own 1 out of the three films in both of those sets :P Should I or should I not? I guess it will depend on how they are packaged. Separate cases = yes please! All together, nah.

I don't own any of the Argento films on BD, only DVD. That should be a easy upgrade for me if the price is right.
The Fulci films I'll have to pass on because I already own 2 of the 3 films

Oooh, glad I've held off on upgrading those Fulci titles (only have the Arrow The Beyond and the BU Zombie).
Day 1 for me on the Fulci set.

So I watched Curtains for the first time tonight. I was expecting pretty spectacular picture quality judging by the review it got here. It was fine, but there were a few scenes where the right side of the screen was noticeably dimmer than the rest of the movie. Come to think of it, that's happened a few times with some older blu-rays I have. I can't seem to recall which ones, but I remember it being an issue. I know it's not my TV because I was watching it on a friends. What gives? Anyone else experience this problem?

Right now, the company is hard at work on its trio of Dario Argento titles: PHENOMENA (pictured above, a.k.a. CREEPERS), TENEBRE and, further down the road, the 4K restoration of SUSPIRIA. Synapse’s Don May Jr. tells Fango, “We’re working with the high-definition PHENOMENA and TENEBRE masters from France’s Wild Side, but doing additional work to make the presentations the best they can be. It’s not confirmed yet, but our plan is to include all three editions of PHENOMENA: the 116-minute version, the 110-minute version and New Line’s 82-minute CREEPERS. It might be fun to include CREEPERS in hi-def for the first time.” Both PHENOMENA and TENEBRE will include new interviews and other bonus features as well.
From the sublimely stylish to the ridiculous, Synapse is also busy preparing Harold P. Warren’s classic Z-movie MANOS: THE HANDS OF FATE for its hi-def unveiling, working from a restoration by Ben Solvey. “It’s been a long road,” May says, “but we’re excited that Ben has picked us to help him release MANOS. We’re in authoring and compression right now, and we have extras created by Ben and Daniel Griffith’s Ballyhoo Motion Pictures, including a making-of and a commentary.”
In addition, May reveals that their special edition of Curt McDowell’s bizarre adult/horror/mystery/black comedy THUNDERCRACK! will be out for its 40th anniversary this year, which will also see Synapse’s releases of Jim McCullough’s Bigfoot cult fave CREATURE FROM BLACK LAKE, Jim Wynorski’s SORCERESS starring Julie Strain and Linda Blair and Kurando Mitsutake’s SAMURAI AVENGER. Keep your eyes here for more details on these discs as we get ’em, and look for a bunch of PHENOMENA coverage (including new chats with Argento, actress Daria Nicolodi and others) in Fango #340, on sale next month!

One of my friends has a Horror Movie Podcast and he and his cohorts interviewed Bill Lustig this week.
He said that he is working on restoring Fight For Your Life for a future Blu-Ray release
Excited about that news as well as the already announced God Told Me To & The Bronx Trilogy!

So confused about why Bill mentioned working on a Blu-Ray of Fight For Your Life on my friend's podcast last month but in an interview he did in 2014, said the negatives were destroyed in Hurricane Sandy.
(Interview in which Bill states original negatives were destroyed):

https://forever-midnight.squarespace...william-lustig
This interview was from January 28th, 2015.
At 71:03, he and the Forever Midnight crew are talking about Fight For Your Life (1977) and Bill says:
"Well I mean I'm working on the Blu-Ray, I'm working on a new Blu-Ray and uh, we're doing kind of a bit of a restoration on that one. The DVD is out."

He could be using another source, like an interpositive or a release print (or maybe multiple release prints, like what Scream Factory did with The Final Terror).

I would assume that if you are using multiple prints, ideally, you would be looking for the way to use each of the best looking pieces to get the whole to look as good as you possibly could because you do not have access to a negative.
