My local Wal-Mart: Blu-ray titles vs. HD-DVD 2:1
I visited a local Wal-Mart store and noticed that they have expanded their Blu-ray offerings.
While previously, their Blu-ray titles were even with HD-DVD. Now I noticed that the Blu-ray selection (and shelf space!) was twice what the HD-DVD offerings were.

The Wal-Mart near me that sells them is the same way. 3 rows for blu ray. 2 rows for HD-DVD. But what the hell do I care? I have both. They have the cheapest prices too. Shooter is only $24. It's freaking $29-35 at Best Buy, Target etc.

My Wal-Mart has crap for both formats. The local Target is pretty equal, but the old titles just sort of sit there until they eventually get bought, and only then does it seems like they restock them with newer titles.

Do they have catalog titles? My Wal-Mart only has BD, but since they just have a few new releases, I'd expect them to have more BD anyway since there are more new releases due to more studios.

My local Wal-Mart's been 100% BD. There's been a few copies of X-Men: The Last Stand gathering dust for the last few months, in the same glass case as the PS3.

My walmart has about 4 rows for each, with maybe 3 titles stocked, and lots of empty spaces. all the time. I dont think its much of a 'hit' here in the area.

My local Wal-Mart has about three columns of titles in both formats on one shelf. It's a tiny selection overall, and about 70% of the titles are Blu-ray discs. With literally just one or two exceptions, they're all day-and-date releases, and very few of them were released more than a few months ago.
On the upside, they always have every day-and-date release as it comes out, and their prices are incredibly competitive, matching Amazon and sometimes trouncing them.

My walmart has one rack section devoted to HD. It is about 50/50 with BD and HD-DVD. They also have a seperate box of BD under one of the prominently displayed HD TV's.

I can't stand to look at my local Walmart's high def section, I cant really tell what is what due to them only having very bad photocopies of the covers on display. I guess the local meth heads stealing them have something to do with this...

I have two Wal-Marts.
The one where I live continues with 'random' movies.
I'll walk in and see A Christmas Story on HD DVD, X-Men on Blu-Ray, and Steal on Blu-Ray. Come back two weeks later for another random assortment of movies. Not sure where these are coming from (and going).
The other Wal-Mart has a huge cube dedicated to both HD and Blu-ray equally with players and TVs. They also have the new Sony for $366 that I've been thinking about.

One of my walmarts had a decent selection. About 9-10 movies. Compared to the craptacular 3 blu-rays. THREE of another walmart I want to.
Pirates 2 - $24.98
Casino Royal - $24.88
TMNT - $24.86
So pretty decent prices. I'm trying to find one with a better selection so I can rely on them for new releases. (IE: Fifth Element re-issue). .

Went today to get some Taco Bell hot sauce ($1.06!) and took a look.
I saw 6 copies of 300 on Blu-Ray and 0 copies of 300 on HD DVD (there was a pricetag next to it).
