DirecTV HD channels
Not sure if this is the proper forum for this, if not, a mod can move it.
Anyways, I was just wondering if there was any news on new DirecTV HD channels coming anytime soon? I just got a new HDTV, and I'm itching to get the DirecTV HD reciever, but the price tag for just the 10 or so channels just doesn't work for me. I know TNT has a HD channel that is not available on DirecTV yet, so I know there's some out there not available on DTV yet.
Thanks for any help!

hmm.. if you sign up they'll give you 1/2 off for the 1st 6 months, so then its $5/month.
There are supposed to be new channels coming, but the focus for now is getting the Locals out in MPEG4 to a bunch of cities. That's been an issue for a while, and they are starting the rollout of the new mpeg4 recievers.

New MPEG4 national channels, like TNTHD, are a long ways off. They are supposed to be delivered from the 3rd and 4th new sats, which are not due to take off for quite some time. Think 2007 before there will be much national HD channel changes at D*. They are focused on the locals at the moment, probably because that's where most HD material is.
As always, any info about D* is subject to change when they change it.
