Re: New mobile site issues: Annoying as hell edition.

I don't think that last tweak did the trick, unfortunately.

I've tried spoofing a mobile user agent in Firefox to try to duplicate this and figure out what ad is (ads are?) doing this, but I haven't been able to reproduce it.

ForumRunner doesn't allow me to post. Is that the only mobile app that supports DVDTalk?

ForumRunner is no longer officially supported as of last August.

The software's been abandoned. Looking at the iTunes Store and Google Play, Forum Runner hasn't been updated since early 2013.

But... this site uses a version of vBulletin from 2007.

So back to my question - on which mobile app (if any) would I find DVDTalk?

MAKE IT STOP!!!!

The mobile app SUCKS. Navigation is difficult at best, always annoying - and now I can't even get back to the standard website for more than one page! Every time I switch to the desktop layout it switches back to the mobile app as soon as I go to a different page!

Come on, this is awful. It makes the site not worth logging on to with my phone, and for 2/3 of my day I can only do mobile!

Is this going to be fixed?

Hi Erik, have you made sure to select "Desktop Version" in the bottom-left dropdown menu? It will also revert if you clear your cache/cookies. Switching back after every page is a new one.

The same thing has just started happening to me. Each time I refresh a page or click on a link, it changes from full site to mobile version. I scroll down, select full site. Once I click on something again, it turns mobile. Annoying.

Re: New mobile site issues: Annoying as hell edition.

Just started for me too. Keeps going to crappy mobile version on my tablet even though I have desktop version selected. So annoying!

EDIT: cookie and cache clear fixed the issue.

EDIT 2: it's happening on and off again now.

Re: New mobile site issues: Annoying as hell edition.

I imagine it probably has something to do with Secure Cookies and the new HTTPS stuff. Until they sort out these issues, it might be solved if you can enable HTTPS Everywhere with your browser.

JTH, did you replace your DVDTalk bookmark? You'll want to make sure you have the HTTPS site. I was having some login trouble before I did that.

Re: New mobile site issues: Annoying as hell edition.

Is there a reason why the http:// version is still available and not 301 redirecting to https:// ?

Re: New mobile site issues: Annoying as hell edition.

My new issue in the last week or so is it won't automatically load the next page. It just keeps cycling the loading icon, so I have to manually enter the page I want to go to, which is fine (i.e. I'll deal with it in a "I barely tolerate this" sort of way), but not what it was, functionally.

Re: New mobile site issues: Annoying as hell edition.

Adam, I know tech is working on that. It should be done relatively soon. I believe they kept the regular version to test out any kinks the secure site might have

Re: New mobile site issues: Annoying as hell edition.

Noticed it today on both my tablet and phone. I've always used the https address. Never had an issue. I can't say when it may have started because the last few days, I've used the mobile version.

Re: New mobile site issues: Annoying as hell edition.

Looks like it's not kicking over to the mobile version every time I change pages. Yay.
