Automatic logout

I'm getting logged out after a couple of hours. It only started happening this week. Until now, I left the tab open all the time and was able to make posts all the time. Now I have to log in every time I look at the forum. Is anyone else seeing this?

Re: Automatic logout

Sounds like a dorked up cookie. Have you tried clearing yet?

Re: Automatic logout

I don't think I've logged in this decade. Have no idea what my password is.

I like this idea. This is going to my official response.

Seriously though it does make sense. Cookies store login info for a lot of sites. Clearing them would screw blow away your pw for all your other sites if you are saving them, but it could fix this issue.

Re: Automatic logout

Yesterday I cleared the cache and deleted all my cookies. I even loaded the new release of Firefox 34.0. Today I'm still getting logged out. I think it only took an hour. Is IB running a hidden script that I'm blocking?

Re: Automatic logout

Are you clicking "remember me" when you log in?

Re: Automatic logout

I took a look at your account and there's nothing out of the ordinary Nick. I'll do some research to see if this is a known VB Bulletin issue or something.

Re: Automatic logout

Is it possible your browser is set to clear cookies when you browse around other sites while logged into DVDTalk? Try using a different browser and see if it helps.

Re: Automatic logout

It may be a new VBulletin thing. Now another forum is doing it to me too.

Re: Automatic logout

I'm still getting logged out after an hour or three. It even happens while I'm reading posts at DT.

I repeat this because there hasn't been any change on your account at all that I can see (you didn't update your email addy recently I assume?). So the most likely cause is your browser. Have you recently changed it/changed settings/added plugins/upgraded it?

Re: Automatic logout

I've been logged in for four days straight. I haven't made any changes at my end, except for the normal update for Firefox. Still, the problem seems to be solved.

Re: Automatic logout

I've been logged in for a week now. Problem solved.

It looks like my problem was caused by the Firefox extension X-Notifier. I don't know why, but when I disable it, the other site doesn't log me off and I can click on links.
