Too many Osiris3657 polls in "Movie Talk"...

I'd like to think that there are much more useful threads to read than the NO LESS THAN EIGHT FRIGGIN' POLLS on the front page. Was this requested by anyone, or is Osiris3657 a "maverick" thread-starter? I haven't read any of them, as I really don't care who's "list of characters" is better than anyone else's. In fact, not knowing anyone here personally, I really don't care what they watch or like. Seems like a huge waste of bandwidth, if you ask me.

A lot of members are having <s>a lot of</s> fun participating in the draft game. If they aren't your thing, they're easy to avoid: don't click the threads.

Agreed. It seems kind of silly to complain about something that is actually inspiring conversation. If you don't like it, avoid the threads.

And not for nothing, but the polls come to an end on May 5th. The second round will see significantly fewer threads started.

...and so continues the belief that every thread started on DVDTalk takes $100 out of your wallet.

This. Only harsher with veiled personal insults.

Holy fuck, Batman, where's the dreaded Thread Police when you need 'em? Typical pigs...nowhere to be found, 'cept at the donut shop.

But really, guys....8 threads on the main page? I don't care how "fun" the few of you participating might think it is, it's unfair to the rest of us (those completely disinterested in your little "party" threads) to have to wind our way around them. Have a sub-forum created or something, for fucks' sake.

I gotta agree. While I don't mind these games, usually, too many on the main page. if you did one every couple of days or so, it would be fine.

Re: Too many Osiris3657 polls in "Movie Talk"...

Agreed, I was thinking about complaining myself. I know a lot of people are participating and having fun, but they're taking up a LOT of space. Half as many polls would be less of an annoyance, but currently finding threads sandwiched in the middle is annoying.

Re: Too many Osiris3657 polls in "Movie Talk"...

Yeah, I think spacing the first round polls out (one every couple of days or so) or grouping them into one thread would have been a better way to go. I enjoy following them but they take up a lot of front page real estate that could go to other threads.

Meh, a sub-forum for something that will be gone in a couple of weeks is overkill.

Yeah, but they could put in ALL of those "monthly challenge" BS threads, too.

On behalf of all us movie character draft game participants, allow me to formally apologize for making it harder to find threads about The Dark Knight and its recently announced sequel.

For those who have avoided these threads, you've missed a golden opportunity to see someone being "lamphorned"

It's 8 threads out of 35 displayed on each page. Do these threads really make it that difficult to find other threads?

I didn't understand the complaints about threads started in the TV forum previously and I still don't get the big deal.

While they're all currently bumped, yes. I'm used to reading the forums by clicking on the forum and checking out the bolded threads where there are new posts. Since these have been at the top over the last day, it definitely makes it harder.

I'm usually not someone that complains about things, but it's definitely noticeable. I'm not even joking when I say that the number of fake Dark Knight threads on April 1st was less annoying then this.

To be fair, I wasn't going to complain because I know these will drop off after another day or two.

Exactly. Even if it was 30 threads taking up this apparently precious first page of a subforum with 50 pages, I wouldn't mind. And I'm not a participant.

If I see new-to-me threads at the bottom of page one, I go to page two, repeat as necessary. It takes less than a second.

Don't worry the game will be over soon, and you all can get back to over-hyping the latest comic book films.

Wow you guys are harsh Bastards.

I also agree that there seems to be a lot taking up the front page.
