What do we do when we get PMs that need mod attention?

It could be a range of issues; personal attacks, requests for bootlegs, other illegal activity.....

There is no "report this post" button. We can forward them, but to who?

I would say forward them all to X or any other admin, but mostly X.

What he said, except for the a month or two.

I have folks emailing me for certain things at times, so it's not unprecedented.

Not getting a reply to a PM/email after a more-than-reasonable amount of time = "we couldn't give less of a shit about your concerns"

I was lead to believe that the procedure for this kind of stuff was to call GeoffK at 3 in the morning.

I think we're out of jokes, so here's what happened in my case.

I forwarded it to an admin (X), and got a reply that it was taken care of, so I imagine that was the way to handle it.

I don't think deleting inappropriate PMs is the way to go, I'd rather deal with spammers and the like more severely than just ignoring them.

Well, this was unexpected.

Just so you know, my offer was not spam and was a sincere solicitation. And the invitation is still open.

IIRC, some time ago I was told that someone using the board software to email me had been getting a bounce message which incorporated something about bsc[at]mailcity[dot]com.

It transpired that, following an upgrade, part of the board software had dug up my 1999 sign-up email and was sending stuff to me there!

Another part of the software was functioning correctly.

So I received emails sent to me via one method and not via another. I had no intention of ignoring anyone but for a while it would certainly look that way to the sender!

That said, from what I have picked up from other mods, there is a universal system that works something along these lines:

Mail -> New
> IF Any Header Contains (FROM "The_Infidel") THEN (JUNK)

Oh, that makes me feel so much better about this site, knowing that I could be on the ignore list of the mods, for no good reason.

For the avoidance of doubt....

.... several posts in this threads were of a jokey tone and the final part of my post, the little piece which was followed by a smiley, was not serious.

However, maybe I should have taken the hint regarding his agenda from the tone and phrasing of The_Infidel's original post ["we couldn't give less of a shit about your concerns"] and simply refrained from posting the sensible/explanatory part that made up the bulk of my message.

Rest assured that I have learned my lesson and TI's prophecy has fulfilled itself.

There's nothing funny about PMS.

We all know that PMS is a sign of weakness and being a pussy. At least that's what my doctor told me.

Re-read this thread, and then take a wild guess.
