ok so I'm new here and have 2 questions?
1. Why don't my PMs work or am I doing something wrong?
2. Is there any shortcut to check a list of your own posts?

1. PMs are not currently implemented on our forum.
2. Click on your username that's shown in a post. It will take you to your profile where you'll find a link that says Find all posts by CADVD1000.

There used to be a check next to threads I've posted in. I haven't seen that for a while now. Am I the only one that these checks don't show up for anymore or did the site terminate all checks? If it's the latter I move to bring them back.

I miss my checks...

Question: I'm running NIS2006 and I followed the instructions to allow to get the buttons for replies but it didn't work. Anyone have this problem? I'm on my laptop so I normally post on my desktop...

Just downloaded the McAfee Security Center update and I lost my buttons like I did when Privacy Service was enabled with the old version.

Problem is I don't see any words resembling "Privacy Service" with this new version. Anyone figure this one out yet?

I couldn't help but notice that the search button now shows as a red x in the first post:

You're welcome to use mine, if you want. I made it so people could see it easily.

Still having this problem only now every once in a while the site looks like it's supposed to. With "Post Reply" options at the bottom of thread pages and "Quote" options in other posts and "Edit" options inside my own posts. This is really annoying and I wish someone could help me.

Why do threads that are many pages take up more band width? How does this work? Are shorter threads better?

I just downloaded the new McAfee and I'm running into the same problem. Is there any way to specify particular servers to block/not block? Right now, I've turned off ad blocking completely. But I'd love to leave it on in general and just carve out an exception for ads.kleinman.com. Can that be done?

1) I don't think so.
2) Avatars are only implemented for moderators, administrators, reviewers, and company representatives.

I don't know the answer to your question, but since you had no reply to your question about naughty animal parts either, I thought you might like some reassurance that you are not actually invisible.

So dvdtalk is not like imdb where you can games and pictures, hmmm. I think this would be a good feature in the future for members. Just a thought, you dont have to follow through it.

Do you mind sharing. I recently got McAfee and now my quote buttons are gone too. Annoying.

Since PM's are now enabled at least for now maybe there should be an addition to the faq explaining any rules, limits, etc.

That's so sweet. I guess now that we have the PM system in place, I can just PM X with my questions.

Out of curiosity, how long does is it before new posts are marked old? I have a bad habit of opening too many tabs, and by the time I get back around to DVD Talk the "New" icons are frequently gone.

something changed... despite my best efforts, I never got any buttons to appear, ie: edit, quote, etc... yes, I tried the suggestions in the FAQ, but could never get them to show... now, this morning... voila.. they have appeared... why?? (not that I'm complaining!)

It appears button graphics are no longer on the ads server, but rather the images server now. The images server is not blocked by your ad blocker software.
