Ah, I didn't know that! It's a real pity. I guess I'll just have to be satisfied with the barebones edition.

In looking at the new Fox Buy 3 Get One Free Offer, these discs have the dated of rerelease printed next to them:
Love Is a Many-Splendored Thing - 05/06/03
The Grapes of Wrath - 06/03/03
Anastasia - 07/01/03
The Inn of the Sixth Happiness - 08/05/03
Titanic - 09/02/03 (Guess that answers that question)
The Mark of Zorro - 10/07/03
Laura - 11/04/03
The Ox-Bow Incident - 12/02/03

I've checked some online, and there are Special Editions up for preorder on several of these.

Update:

Added Chariots Of Fire, National Lampoon’s Vacation, Christmas Vacation and Vegas Vacation. Also added All The President’s Men, Lost Boys, Christmas Story, Daughters Of Darkness, Vampyres.

Removed Young Guns.

Pretty much everyone who bought the entire James Bond dvd collection will be pissed in October 2005. Why? All James Bond films except for Die Another Day are supposed to be re-released the with remastered picture and sound. We’re talking about 20 movies here! They should have been done right the first time.

Hey why is alien quadillogy still listed as 6/13/03?
Until now I haven't seen any other dates for it. That date was once listed at DvdSoon but it seems that they have now changed it to 11/11/2003. I have now changed it to that. Or is there another release date you had in mind?

Hasn't "Wild at Heart" been confirmed? I know it's due May 12 the in the UK.....

How about US releases of "28 days Later" or "Versus"?

And the UK release won't have the approved Lynch transfer and 5.1 mix according to www.dugpa.com

They state October as the likely R1 release date.

Region 2 Wild at Heart Not Lynch Approved Transfer
I got word this week that the upcoming Universal Region 2 UK Wild at Heart DVD will not be using the Lynch approved video transfer. As a matter of fact, Lynch is still in the process of scheduling with MGM to do the new 5.1 remix. Release data for this US DVD that includes the Lynch approved transfer should be in October of this year.

Mikko,

Thanks for keeping this thread going. It is a big help to know what is coming up.

Helps you with some possible bargains and also helps you from making some costly mistakes.

Star Wars in 3D

Does anyone have information about a new project that some crazy guys created the whole Star Wars saga in 3D? I heard gossips about that. I mean they took the original films and turned them somehow into 3D movies. I do not know how on Earth they did it but if it is true, hey, it would blow up the Film Industry. If anybody has info please share it!!

Update.

Bill Lustig’s company Blue Underground is going re-release many films that were previously licenced to Anchor Bay. Lustig has already mentioned some of the titles: some Hammer films (not known which) and the following Argento films: Phenomena, Tenebre, Deep Red, Demons (Argento produced), Demons 2 (Argento produced). No release dates have been set.

Added new superbits: The One, The Quick and the Dead, Starship Troopers, John Carpenter's Vampires.

Added Q The Winged Serpent and American Pie 1 and 2 (again).

Removed Daughters Of Darkness, Mothman Prophecies, Vampyres, Hunt For Red October, Patriot Games, Clear And Present Danger, People Vs. Larry Flynt, Sea Of Love, Bad Boys, Charlie’s Angels, MIB, MIIB, XXX, Windtalkers, Dances With Wolves.

Also removed Wicker Man. Anchor Bay decided not to release a separate version of the director’s cut.

It was removed because the "Tricked Out Edition" was released Tuesday. If it gets re-released, it is removed from the "to be re-released" list.

This is a thread for information on re-releases (upcoming releases of movies on dvd that are already on dvd).

The thread for when new movies (that were recently in theaters) are coming to dvd is here: http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...hreadid=296288

and no date for City of God yet (that I have seen anywhere..at least not for Region 1).

I read it somewhere and the information seemed pretty solid. But who knows, a lot can happen before 2005 so I wouldn't sell my previous copies just yet.

Ghostbusters 20th Special?

Has anybody heard of a re-release of Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters 2? The 20th Anniversary is next summer and Im sure there has to be something planned for a special edition DVD. They were first released 4 years ago but the covers arent original and part 2 had no special features at all.
