Added them both. And apparently there's an IMFDB, which is the Internet Movie Firearms Database. It found 692 horror films with guns:

Well, both the Horror Films with Synth Scores and 100 Iconic and Recognized Soundtracks suggestions already have Goblin covered pretty extensively. Maybe it could be a checklist entry?

Coincidentally today marks the 40th anniversary of Suspiria being released in US theaters.

It probably will come down to that, so everyone please be prepared to vote more than once if need be. Again, the only "rule" is once per theme.

I think that it's only fair that, if we've got the IMDB's highest-rated horror films as a theme possibility, we should also have the IMDB's worst-rated horror films as a theme possibility:

Out of the Top 50, I've only seen House of the Dead. With how many crappy movies are on Netflix and coming out in theaters, I expected a lot more "well known" titles.

Re: Pre-Horror Challenge 13: Building of the Optional Lists (Themes, Subset, & Checkl

New theme picks:

One-word titles
IMDB highest-rated horror
IMDB lowest-rated horror
The 1950s
Death by drowning
Skulls
Rondo Award winners
Mummies
Evil twins and doppelgangers
Shot in Bronson Canyon

All of the returning themes are fine by me--but I've got a question: Would it be possible to start swapping out European horror with Asian horror every other year? We've done Euro for the past two years.

I'd also like to nominate Media Home Entertainment for '80s video companies day this year.

It's on the list. The possibility now exists for Hobgoblins to be a subset pick.

And some diabolical genius uploaded a Criterion cover on IMDB for Track of the Moon Beast:

Sure, it's not too late to switch it over this year if people want it. They've both been used 5 times apiece now.

Throwing in a vote for IMDB's worst-rated horror films. 2 of the top 10 on the list are on my must watch this challenge list anyway. Others should suffer with me.

Re: Pre-Horror Challenge 13: Building of the Optional Lists (Themes, Subset, & Checkl

While you're voting...

1. Which One Returns?

A) The Asian Buffet of Tantalizing Terrors
B) The European Passport to Terror
C) Both

2. 1980's Video Companies Spotlight Choice?

A) Media Home Entertainment Has Been Nominated (I like this one.)
B) Other (state your other choice here using this link -- Vestron Video and Embassy Home Entertainment already used.)

I vote for the return of European Horror, mainly because I have easier access to them, than Asian Horror.

I would go for BOTH, regarding European and Asian. Media Home Entertainment also gets my vote!

I would also like to throw a vote in for IMDB Worst Rated Horror. I can easily get my hands on a few of those.
