Assume that all of these are available to all customers unless specifically listed as member only like the Welcome Package. Also remember that any preliminary codes are just that and BN could pull it, change the details or exclusions anything prior to release so always a bit of YMMV until the final release date

Mini FAQ
Coupons should not work for PREORDERS , Nook, Legos, Rosetta Stone, Digital, Gift Cards, Memberships, etc. There are glitches where sometimes an excluded item will be allowed but assume that is the exception to the rule
Free Shipping is $25 (before tax/shipping) or with membership.
Max 3 GC on a single online order.
Online only a single code can be applied to an order
Return period is 14 days after delivery (possibly 30 days for members though I've never tried)
Online ordered items can returned to a local store unless it's classified as a web-only item then it's at the store's discretion to accept
The long standing Free 60 day Trial Offer was discontinued in late May 2016

So far I've been lucky as far as duds. Only seen one so far, Vampegeddon. It was a movie that at first I thought was a first time view, but as I watched it, I remembered that I had seen it in a past challenge. It was just so forgettable that I had completely forgotten I watched it until I saw familiar scenes.

That's good to hear because Amazon just shipped the copy I ordered. I've read great things about it, but a group that I used to watch movies with universally didn't like it. There were complaints that it was too boring. Then again, I don't put too much credence in their opinions. I think they take pride in not liking things. They are all very much like the comic book guy on The Simpsons in terms of attitude. Everything is the worst ever. It can be so exhausting and no fun to watch movies with people like that. I'll be happy to judge for myself.

On another note, I asked this in the film's thread but figured it might be useful to bring it up here. How are people viewing subset film Satan's Blood? I noticed that we have no streaming links for it, and I think the DVD is out of print.

I should hit 100 tonight. I'll celebrate by playing it safe and watching a familiar title that's not a potential shitfest. So far I've only caught a couple of duds, but nothing that was completely unbearable. That's not bad considering I'm winging it.

Don't count on social media. According to the admin stats the last couple of Facebook posts have reached less than 100 people ...out of a current 987 subscribers.

Tim Lucas did specify "print" editions will no longer be published, but then he makes it clear they have know idea about VW for the near future. Fingers crossed they stay around in some form or another.

I was a wasn't a regular subscriber due to the [understandable] cost, but I'd always pickup back issues on eBay and occasionally on the newsstand at B&N. That magazine introduced me to so many obscure genre films. Between this and Fango's fate being up in the air, well, it's depressing.

Glad you mentioned that; apparently skipped right over that one. I just now added the two alyxstarr links to the subset thread.

Also, to answer an earlier question - the new Blu-ray from Screenbound with the terrible cover art is Region Free. The Zavvi info was correct.

I think it would be worth catching the last few episodes. It definitely picked up some after a bit of a mid-season lull. I enjoyed the Halloween Special quite a bit too.

Silly shirt update. On slasher day, i resisted wearing a Texas Chainsaw shirt
Spoiler:

I thought Curses day might be my curse for theme compliance, but then I remembered about this one
Spoiler:

And then for monster day, I used Jurassic Park. Though it may not technically be listed as a horror film, I wouldn't balk if I saw it on someone's list.

I'll keep an eye out. I think my Blu-ray arrives Wednesday. I'm looking forward to watching it.

I think I caught that one my very first challenge. A friend of mine brought over all of his horror DVDs for me to borrow for the month, and Burial Ground was among them. He hadn't seen it; I hadn't heard of it. I watched it by myself and reported back that he MUST see it. I've since introduced it to a few friends. Always a fun viewing.

Trio of "campy" movies tonight:

-Summer Camp Night (1987) - anybody see this. Though not a traditional horror flick it does have some eerie elements...kinda' like Friday the 13th meets Lord of the Flies

-Cheerleader Camp

and Jason Lives!

The Cubs and the election have definitely taken a lot of my time. I'm still hoping to hit a personal best and picked off three films today: Eden Lake (with a young Fassbender, but meh), Sorority Row (MEH), and The Cabin in the Woods, because I just wanted to watch something that I knew was good. I might have to check other people's checks for T&A because the nudity has been severely lacking in most of my selections thus far. Don't they make films like the Friday the 13th remake anymore?

Mondo Macabro delivers again. Really impressed with Symptoms. Very much a slow-burner psychodrama oozing with atmosphere that's in the Polanski vein. Never realized how attractive Angela Pleasence can be, that is, until you suddenly realize she resembles her father, which can slightly disturbing.

Also didn't realize it's from the director of Vampyres, and (news to me) that has just been remade with Caroline Munro.

Nice, I might open mine tonight. I sort of want to watch my Severin Blu of The Sinful Dwarf, but then I also don't want to. Never seen it, kind of scared of it.

The Sinful Dwarf is not the movie you think it is - it's a real snoozer and even the International version is not very strong. You have been warned...

My favorite. I'm still holding out hope that the uncut version will see the light of day someday.

And that other Tom McLoughlin movie One Dark Night is getting the Blu-ray treatment!

Watched Wishmaster today. It had Buck Flower in it. So far he has popped up 3 times durring the challenge for me. Always playing a drunk, twice a drunk janitor. He's like Dick Miller, he pops up everywhere.

Okay, Baskin was the first subset movie in my 9 years of OHMC that I actually wanted to turn off half-way through. Guess I'll head over to the discussion page...

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 12th Annual October Horror Movie Challenge (Oct 1-31) Pt

I agree with this year being slower. I never worry about hittin 100 because i usually do i it by the 20th. This year i am going to struggle to get 100. 7 days to get 23 films.. with my halloween party on Saturday. so that means a lot of cleaning this week. Every year I tell my wife we will have the house clean and decorated by Sept 30th at dusk... it never happens.

Ill finish the checklist, but not at 100% like I have done the past few years.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 12th Annual October Horror Movie Challenge (Oct 1-31) Pt

On the remake train again for the second night in a row, I wound up watching PULSE tonight(I still need to see the original version). It's an okay time waster movie, but nothing special since it's a Dimension movie tampered with by the Weinsteins and it shows.

The processed to death color timing is laughable, that it's amazing to see the unfiltered color scheme in the deleted scenes which are more realistic and with a little touch up would look great without being over processed. Speaking of the deleted scenes. It shows what the potential directors cut would be like, and it'd be an improvement over the theatrical/unrated version with a less impatient pace from the looks of it and maybe lack the billion jump scares the theatrical version has(including a laughable over the top final scare sequence, compared to the more somber, but appropriate alternate/original ending). There is also an amusing cameo by Brad Dourif as well who I forgot showed up in the film to chew the scenery. And Kristen Bell is super cute and also good in the role. So it's not terrible, but it's not anything special either because of all the tampering that went on and the over processed look of the film which tries to look 'gloomy and scary' which bashes you over the head as a result instead of building up atmosphere and suspense/scares.

The girls in Don't Deliver Us From Evil have some serious issues and I loved watching them deal with them. Great piece of Euro cult film.

Is the election really stopping people from watching movies in this forum?
