Assume that all of these are available to all customers unless specifically listed as member only like the Welcome Package. Also remember that any preliminary codes are just that and BN could pull it, change the details or exclusions anything prior to release so always a bit of YMMV until the final release date

Mini FAQ
Coupons should not work for PREORDERS , Nook, Legos, Rosetta Stone, Digital, Gift Cards, Memberships, etc. There are glitches where sometimes an excluded item will be allowed but assume that is the exception to the rule
Free Shipping is $25 (before tax/shipping) or with membership.
Max 3 GC on a single online order.
Online only a single code can be applied to an order
Return period is 14 days after delivery (possibly 30 days for members though I've never tried)
Online ordered items can returned to a local store unless it's classified as a web-only item then it's at the store's discretion to accept
The long standing Free 60 day Trial Offer was discontinued in late May 2016

Thanks to all the sponsors: Rich Hamilton from Hamilton Book, Seth Poulin of Celluloid Terror, Jesse Nelson of Diabolik DVD, Don May Jr. and Matthew Kiernan of Synapse Films, Severin, the Internet Brands warehouse workers, and John Sinnott.

It was a great year and I was lucky enough to win a prize. Thanks Chad for organizing such a good time in October and I'm starting to look forward to October 2017.

I can't believe it has been 10 years for me! This is my first time winning a prize, so that feels good, considering I did 117 this year, my highest yet! Thanks to everyone who participated, I am already starting to buy stuff for next year.

I win a prize! PM sent

Anyone else finding it hard to just drop the horror schedule of viewing? Of course, like many people here I bet, horror isn't an October only thing for me. But I like the extra push the challenge does to watch stuff. Plus, provide a forum for discussion. I miss during the rest of the year not having a place to throw down any horror talk (that doesn't fall under a specific current movie or tv show).

Last weekend I'm still clearing out the horror I have in my Netflix queue. I got to Holidays - like most anthologies by their nature, very uneven. Some segments had interesting ideas (like the ones for Easter, St Patrick's Day and Mothers Day) that weren't well fleshed out, or seemed potentially good only to get silly.

And I watched the Netflix original I Am The Pretty Thing That Lives in the House (aka I Am The Boring Movie That Puts You To Sleep).

Still working through Dark Shadows on DVD. I should be able to keep watching 6-8 episodes a week (which would put me around the halfway point of the series by next October). It's a lot more fun now that I've passed the "magic" point (about 6 months into the original airing) where the horror comes to the forefront of the stories. The ending of the Matthew storyline was classic ghost horror
Spoiler:
with a murderer eventually being frightened to death by the ghosts of his victims
, and the current Phoenix story reminds me of those great Italian gothic horror movies of the 60's. Still about 60 episodes from Barnabas joining the cast (contrary to what some people remember, the Barnabas story was not the transition of the show from gothic melodrama to gothic horror ... that had already happened). While I'm liking much of the interview extras, I fear I'm going to have to start skipping them. A few just assume the viewer knows all the major storyline events, and start dropping in major spoilers. But I really enjoy hearing about the production side of things. As easy as it is to make fun of the show's production values, what they did given the time and money constraints was amazing.

There are a few horror movies I'd hesitated to watch during the challenge because I got carried away with trying to beat my prior top count and they were too long... excited to get to Neon Demon and The Wailing.

Does anybody have any post-October horror plans?

I am hoping to do a Scream marathon (just the movies, not the God-awful* TV show) next month for the 20th Anniversary of the first film as well as a Frankenstein marathon over several days. I'll probably just watch the Universal films to start with and see where it takes me.

* IMHO

No specific plans, but I'm still watching horror sometimes. I'm in a horror group on Facebook, so I have lots of fellow fans to talk horror with all year round.

No to both. I watch nothing but horror during October but watch the occasional horror film all year long and after the October challenge don't specifically plan any of those viewings. They work themselves in when the mood hits.

Congrats to all the winners! And thanks to all the sponsors! I know I'd do the challenge even without the prospect of a prize but it's *always* nice to win something!

Special thanks to Chad for all the work running things!

I liked that ending because he's a fun actor to watch plus the show stops being centered around Vicky.

Yeah, it never stops for me. It's not predominately horror like in October, but it's definitely scattered throughout the year.

Well, aside from working on the mountain of leftover supplemental material (just caught Slugs w/ Chris Alexander commentary), I always get in plenty of Christmas-themed horror around this time. Also plan to at least make a dent in the Universal and Hammer sets that were neglected during the challenge.

Wow - 2nd time I won a prize.
Thanks again to Chad and the sponsors and everyone
I enjoy reading the lists to see what you all watch and to get recommendations.
The lists are all very nice and everyone should be proud - but I did vote for Surfinhank
I watch horror all year-always been my favorite genre.
Pm sent-thanks again.

Lots to reply to here but real quick, congrats everyone and I miss you all! And while I haven't watched any horror since Halloween night, unless you count Election night, I do have some horror comedies in my Netflix and Amazon queue that I plan to watch during this month's Comedy Challenge.

Same here.

Actually, horror is still mostly what I watch throughout the year. That an exploitation. It is just what appeals to me. Every time I am watching a serious drama or bad comedy, I usually sit there wishing I was watching a horror or exploitation movie instead.

At the beginning of October, my wife sincerely asked me, "Haven't you seen every horror movie ever made by now?" She has no clue how many horror movies are out there or have been made since film making began. She really thinks there is this finite amount that someone like me has to have seen them all. She's so cute.

Horror is also my favorite genre so that and exploitation of various forms dominate my viewing throughout the year.

I've picked up a lot of new followers at the Celluloid Terror Facebook and Youtube pages and I'm immensely grateful for that. If you haven't subbed to the YT channel be sure to do because I'm having a contest in the next couple of weeks where more movies will be given away! And of course I'll be posting all sorts of reviews and things like that so please stop by! - The link in my sig will take you to the main blog where links to everything else can be found.

just wanted to give Chad a shout out for doing another great job this year! Congrats to the winners and everyone who participated. I love looking at all your lists to get some ideas of movies I haven't seen like Bone Tomahawk. It's always a pleasure to get together with you all every October! Can't wait until next year!

Winner update. The 11/15 deadline was met for the 21 of you who won something from Synapse, Diabolik and Severin, and your address info has been sent off to John Sinnott who forwards it over to the IB warehouse. You should be getting those fairly soon.

Of the five left that go to Seth, I still need three addresses from the following:
  • dcrw6
  • thecrazydude
  • josepotato
