For this countdown week I pulled a lot of horror movie documentaries as a warm up. "Birth of the Living Dead", "Never Sleep Again", etc.
Your watching the horror movie documentaries has inspired me. While I'm not limiting myself to only documentaries, I did start a challenge warm up myself yesterday where I watch 2 or 3 horror related items a day, be they a documentary, movie, or episode of a television series.

Me too. I'm in the process of building a stack for the first week, and I may give that one a watch.

If Train to Busan was your second favorite movie of the fest, what was your favorite?
Egomaniac. It was more comedy with a side of horror, but it was very genuinely funny and relatable.

I'm in the process of planning my Checklist watches and has anyone who has seen The Green Room have an opinion on whether or not it fits the musical/rock n roll horror category?

If not, would Deathgasm count for the same checklist item?

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 12th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/

Okay, this may have already been discussed but I just went through the subset list and only had trouble finding a way to watch one movie - Satan's Blood.

I went to the review section and there was no link on where to watch it. The only copy I can find is a BD from the UK. If it is a decent, sleazy movie as I have been reading, I can import it (I am region-free) but it can sometimes take a month or more to get something in so I would need to import it now to make sure it came in in time.

Were there any other ways of seeing this? I did some searches but of course I don't know every streaming place to check. I was worried about Death Ship but saw it has a youtube link so I am good with that. I hate streaming on youtube but will do it if there is no other choice left. Looks like I am also going to be stuck watching several DVDs in this subset as many aren't available via BD thru Netflix and my spending has been off the charts lately (so I don't really need to buy anything else or spend more money on throwaway streaming rentals).

There's music but I don't think it really fits the spirit of a musical/rock n roll horror category.

I was also disappointed to find that the BD of The Living Dead At Manchester Morgue is out of print and is selling for $150 or more. I read some good things about it but will have to settle to watch it on a DVD.

Any reason why it is OOP or any chance it is going to be re-released?

Not answering your question, Spider, but if you're dead-set to watch it in HD, you can rent it from Amazon Prime for $5.

Yeah, I saw that. I just despise paying 5 bucks to stream a movie. It's a thing with me.

$5 to rent is crazy, that's my usual "own" price. $1 is about the most I'll pay to rent something.

I thought I had seen someone allude to posting the subset movies in the same way it was done last year. I have most of them on either DVD or Blu, but I'm coming up short on about 6-8 flicks.

Not sure if I'll get to them or not, and I know the first one is by far the best, but with purchases I made last summer, I actually own 1-6 of The Howling, 3, 5 and 6 in a Blu Ray set.

2 is worth watching IMO for Sybil Danning and this great tune:

That was in year two of the Challenge. I couldn't properly quote their post because the thread was locked due to fighting. In year three, the checklist expanded a bit thanks to Shack, still active in OHMCs. I believe the checklists were nonexistent in year one and sort of unofficial the next two years.
Thanks, Trevor, but I can't really take any credit for the checklist expansion. That was due to lots of effort from lots of other people.

I appreciate the remembrance of past challenges, which at times were as scary as a walk down a deserted street...in the middle of the night...with a serial killer hiding nearby... (Luckily we're all more civil these days.)

Can't wait for the weekend!

And now I'm regretting not making it my main subset pick! Green Room better live up to the hype.

No, it's not even in the same category. Lightning did not strike twice, IMO.

I think a little of the beginning is cut off or the film just starts abruptly. It's the only one I found online.

Just checked my stuff and I own this so if anyone is really interested, I can pull it out and see if the part of the beginning is missing or not.

Like this
Frankenstein's Monster http://www.imdb.com/character/ch0002565/
Igor http://www.imdb.com/character/ch0002568/
