That's an interesting idea - having a theme that's specific to your tastes without the need for a link. And we actually did something similar in the first year of theme nights with 'Pick Your Favorite Horror Icon'.

Good combination.

Anyone? Still having trouble.

I LOVE this idea!

Although would "Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman" actually count for the challenge??

I just ordered the Scream Factory release of Stung, and I have my prize from last year, Mosquito, set aside. I know creature features is a popular theme, but have we ever done Killer Insects? There are probably plenty of options, and it could be a topical theme in the height of Zika mania.

Thank you! I was beginning to think those years never actually took place. Now only 9 more to go.

We've done 'Natural Horror Films' that had some, but I don't think anything specific to insects.

Re: Pre-Horror Challenge 12: Building of the Optional Lists (Themes, Subset, & Checkl

It's a real shame such a milestone theme like the Happy 100th, Uncle Forry doesn't have a better link. I was hoping for something better organized like the 35th Ann Fango theme from a couple years back, but no such luck. I seriously doubt anyone wants to click a few dozen times to find what they're looking for.

I was going to suggest something regarding Famous Monsters Of Filmland, but I guess that's a no go anyways.

Re: Pre-Horror Challenge 12: Building of the Optional Lists (Themes, Subset, & Checkl

Only 8 subset spots remain!

And just added another theme suggestion: Stranger Things -&- Unconventional Movie Monsters.

Basically films like Killer Klowns, Death Bed, Microwave Massace, Rabid Grannies, Frogs, Uzumaki’, Squirm, Hausu, Rubber, Chopping Mall (9/27 Blu-ray release) ...you get the point.

Re: Pre-Horror Challenge 12: Building of the Optional Lists (Themes, Subset, & Checkl

Theme Voting has started!

  • This is for both new and returning themes.

  • If you've already voted, no problem. Just remember there's been quite a few additions in the past few days, so please recheck the suggestions list on post 2 periodically.

  • There's no limit to how many times you can vote, or how many themes you can vote for. The only "rule" is one vote per theme. You can do it in this thread, or if you prefer privately - PM or via email. Makes no difference to me.

  • Also, keep in mind that some themes have unfinished or better lists/links coming such as Dark Shadows 50th Anniversary, Fangoria Chainsaw Awards, and more.

  • Certain themes will have to be combined with another theme or two if they don't provide enough titles.

  • And finally, don't hesitate to keep the theme suggestions coming if you have them, which brings me back to what was said earlier -- recheck the list periodically.
