No. Chad didn't have time, a few of us volunteered to do a few stats. Ben and a couple others pulled together some stats. I was supposed to make a master list, but someone at work threw away my ten pages of hand written notes and I'm not about to do all that work again.

Added another suggestion - Two-Faced Big Mouths with Dirty Dishes.

What is the magic number where prequels could be its own theme? I'll see if I can find more.
I've been thinking about that recently and I'd say a minimum of 50 and maybe more. I realize that sounds like a high number, but after years of looking over lists I can tell you they're often full of fluff. Oftentimes they're full off hard-to-find, OOP titles, films that aren't available in Region 1/A, never made it past VHS, DVD featurettes, shorts, etc. Then there's the straight-to-video Z-grade Asylum type movies that not many want to bother with. And when there's more than one list provided there's usually multiple repeats.

That said, this one can definitely stand on its own.

I should probably mention now that it's unfortunately going to have to be the same this year, and for the foreseeable future.

Whoa. Only listened to maybe half of those. Had no idea he was in TCM2.

Same here.

We did 'Subterranean Horror' back in 2012, so I"ll count it as a vote for that. And added Zombie Period Pieces, but it's only 22 titles and will need another theme or two tacked on if chosen.

And just to expand on the Joe Bob commentary idea...

What if, instead of just having a 'w/ commentary' or just a Joe Bob section, we did a 'Masters of Commentary' with John Carpenter, Joe Bob Briggs, Guillermo del Toro and whoever I'm missing for the checklist? Just an idea.

What about expanding Zombie Period Pieces to cover horror period pieces in general?

I like the Master of Comentary idea; especially as a theme night.

Also that list of zombie period pieces is not even close to comprehensive, lots of zombie westerns and WW2 movies and that Pride Predigest and Zombies that just came out.

Even Abraham Lincoln vs Zombies, which actually isn't bad for a SyFy movie.

And we're up to 17 volunteers for the subset.

That could also work. I just realized it it were zombie only we'd have to tack it on to the zombies theme as an additional link (like were-creatures to werewolves and quiet/soft to the ghosts theme) since that's a mainstay that's been around since the beginning.

Well, if it does becomes a theme we'd have to allow the option to view these films minus the commentary. I seriously doubt everyone would want an entire day devoted to listening to commentaries only. And who else should we add besides John Carpenter, Joe Bob Briggs, and Guillermo del Toro?

Yeah, that was just a quick find on short notice. I'll try and find a better list.

Re: Pre-Horror Challenge 12: Building of the Optional Lists (Themes, Subset, & Checkl

So for the Dark Shadows 50th Anniversary theme, I've created links for the first 37 cast members up to Dana Elcar. These are the individual links for everyone excluding those who only did a Dark Shadows movie or nothing at all like Alexandra Isles.

Spoiler:
Jonathon Frid:

Grayson Hall:

I will be providing a master list soon (of the ones I provided; way too many to add every single actor), and may have to add a few more actors because many only did a handful of horror films, if that.

For one of the subset picks or theme nights, maybe we can get sponsorship from a streaming service like Full Moon Streaming, Shudder, Screambox, Expolitation.tv, Fandor, etc. They can do a pick from their catalog and offer everyone a 24-hour guest pass.

We are now up to 18 subset volunteers. There's still some regulars that haven't volunteered, so do it already! I have to have your consent.

I'll definitely contact them. I know Vinegar Syndrome is behind Exploitation.tv, so maybe we could get a combination physical media / digital prize package. Worth a shot anyway.

Re: Pre-Horror Challenge 12: Building of the Optional Lists (Themes, Subset, & Checkl

Also, I've added links for the Fangoria Chainsaw Awards theme suggestion ...at least what I could find. The IMDB is mysteriously missing certain years, and I haven't had much luck elsewhere. If anyone has links for the 1995, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2007, or 2008 awards please share. And a single master list would be even better.

I'll definitely contact them. I know Vinegar Syndrome is behind Exploitation.tv, so maybe we could get a combination physical media / digital prize package. Worth a shot anyway.
I always have trouble selecting a subset film, but I'll try.

I'm obviously in for a subset choice if needed, but would rather defer to a first-timer.

That brings us up to 20 on subset volunteers! And duly noted there's a couple of you that will give up your spot if need be.

Also, deal alert if you missed the Blu-ray forum thread...

Alexandra had an interesting life. She married into a banking family, got pregnant, then left the show. Divorced her husband and became a mistress to a guy that tried murdering his wife a couple times. Then she married someone else.

I don't get what people see in her. She's as plain in the interviews as she was in the show.

Too bad we didn't have this theme a few years ago when the giant box set came out. Took me nearly a year to get through.

And portrayed by Julie Hagerty in Reversal of Fortune. But yeah, she's pretty wooden on the show. In one of her interviews she claims she was asked back after her pregnancy, and declined after they shot down her idea of making her character "possessed".

I bought the LE set back when in 2012, but just started watching back in February. Currently on episode 560 something, so not even half done, although close to being Vicki-free.

I've been pondering whether to start watching the episodes of Dark Shadows on Hulu.
