After seeing the news that Wes Craven had passed it made me think to drop in for a bit solace in the OHMC and everyone here that can share in this shock.

It's difficult to state that I'm excited for the Challenge. Although I am, it's just a somber excitement at this moment.

It is a Halloween Party planning/decorating magazine from 1930. An interesting look into the past.

I did not downrez the scans so the PDF is a little big but should look great on anything you want to put it on.

Enjoy:

No problem, glad a few others can get some enjoyment out of this little slice of history too. It is weird to think about that this was written almost entirely by and aimed at women in their late 20's early 40's in 1930. Crafts that involve cigarets, costumes for flapper girls, carrot dude & all those games and traditions (I can't say I have even heard of most of them (but I guess you came up with more to things to do before cable TV)).

That was one of the subset choices a few years ago, it was meh.

On another note, I just bought this:

My current most likely to be the worst movie of the challenge.

I bought that the day it came out when I used to blind buy the dumbest crap at Wal Mart. It definitely has a fighting chance for the title of worst movie of the challenge for you

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 11th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/

I just drove by a Spirit Halloween store. It was packed.

And much like Big Lots, I'm all about the deals:

Arrow Sale
Like the last one, there's a glitch that offers free shipping worldwide for one item.

Vincent Price Volume 2 Blu-ray set for $37 (approx) for first time Jet.com users.

Spoiler:
$10 off and 12-month trial:

Sign up, and enter CURISMA promo code during registration

Order must total at least $35

Enter the code SAVELOTS at checkout.

VCI Sale. Coupon code is LABORDAY.
Deals include Dark Night of the Scarecrow, The Bird with the Crystal Plumage, and Dark Star Blu-ray for $6 and change apiece. White Zombie for $9 and change. Scream Theater Double Feature DVDs for $3 and change.

And today's the last of the Kino Studio Classics sale.

Will there be another Ghostbusters Gift set and Halloween Limited Deluxe Edition TCM Store misprices that very few got in on like last year? Only time will tell.

Hey Chad. Totally off topic here, but how's your back doing now? It's been a couple of years hasn't it?

I didn't know about it, but I hope you're doing better. I have chronc back problems myself, and know how painful it is.

Back on topic. I get paid tomorrow, and plan to order some Horror movies.

Thinking of some classics like Universal, Val Lewton, or Hammer.

I love the classics. Favorites are the Universals. I have I think 4 Lewtons. Most notably the Cat People movies.

Just per-ordered some Hammer blu's. Christopher Lee Draculas, Frankenstein must be Destroyed, Burnt Offerings. All to be released on Oct 6.
Also getting Mad Max tomorrow although this isn't a horror selection but it's still worth getting.

Maybe after this round of Hammer blu's they can add on another round. Especially with Horror of Dracula. I'd love to have this on bluray.

I did the same thing, especially if he had an actor/actress I like (lots of random actors that have no business in horror) or a cool cover/story. Most of those are junk. We should have a worst of award please!

Thanks for getting this up and running Chad! I'm looking forward to this. I had to skip last year as I was still getting used to being married to someone who values quiet(not that I've been a part of this consistently). Getting movies ready to watch now that I have things set up to watch more movies.

Jeez first prize every year should be a 24x36 print of the banner signed by Chad. That thing is awesome, annually.

I've got some great samples on my desk right now and some great stuff in stock, when I get a chance I will put 3 prize packs together Chad, like I did last year, if that sounds ok to you.

I still have the occasional aches and pains, but it's much better than before. And it was 3 years ago Saturday (8/29).

Am I the crazy one for just wanting to enjoy horror without worrying about optional lists this year? I just want to watch what I want, without having to sync my viewing to any particular day.

Exactly. I've been taking part in the challenge for quite a few years, and I've never once paid attention to checklists, theme days, and participant picks. I just whatever I feel like watching when I feel like watching it.

Not at all. I personally stopped doing the checklist after getting completely obsessed with trying to complete it, which tends to take the fun out of things. Then again, I'm about as indecisive as they come, and the other two always make it that much easier for me to help plan what that particular night's viewing schedule is. But hey, that's precisely why they're optional.

Nice to know I'm not alone.

On another note, I just ordered three movies for next month, the first Creepshow, the first Pumpkinhead, as well, as thanks to the former Mister Peepers watching Dark Shadows, I was inspired to check it out, so to start small I ordered House of Dark Shadows. I don't have a spare $500 for the whole series.
