Figures too because my oldest son was allowed to discover the Simpsons recently--would have been perfect.

Well, that's three prize refusers I guess. Back to random.org I go. I'll PM wd40cloud one more time and give them another chance; then will announce the final final winner later tonight.

Alright, here is the prize re-cap and current status. We'll give the current alternate until midnight to post in this thread to get their prize. Baring that, Undeadcow is up for the remaining prize. Should they defer, you see the random.org generated queue below. As always, no thanks go to me, but all to Travis for creating and running things, and GoldenWheels and HamiltonBooks for the cool swag!
1st - wd40cloud - didn't reply in the set rule timeframe
2nd - Greg MacGuffin - bumped up to 1st and got the 3rd Rock From the Sun complete series set
3rd - Giles - deferred
4th - Ash Ketchum - bumped up to 2nd and got Groundbreaking Sitcoms of the 70s
alternate 1 - Surfinhank - deferred
alternate 2 - Darkgod - bumped up to 3rd place and got Benson seasons 1&2 and Good Times seasons 1&2
alternate 3 - wd40cloud - briefly reappeared and was placed back in line, then disappeared again
alternate 4 - Undeadcow - 8th choice shoots up the list to claim the final prize, the Flyers and What's Happening sets
alternate 5 - acubfaninmd - so close, but not quite
alternate 6 - lisadoris - wait, we have women on DVDTalk?!

Re: TV on DVD* Challenge: The Fifth Season Discussion Thread
I finished S3 of ST:TNG last night. Overall it was a very good season with only a few "bad" episodes. Even then, the "bad" ones were better than most of the S1/S2 episodes. I *still* don't care for the Borg and consider them to be lazy storytelling so was less than enthused by the season ending cliff-hanger episode. I still wish Guinan was played by someone other than Whoopie Goldberg. I was pleasantly surprised to find that Wesley didn't get as much attention as I'd recalled and certainly less than in the first two seasons. I'll be purchasing S4 at some point.
Watching some of those episodes got me nostalgic for the original Trek and I was considering pulling out a season for a few episodes but hadn't really decided. Then a few minutes ago I read that Leonard Nimoy died today at the age of 83. His is the first celebrity death in years that has brought me to tears. That pretty much cements what I'll watch tonight.

Re: TV on DVD* Challenge: The Fifth Season Discussion Thread
You know... watching TNG made me realize they changed the uniform colors (flipped Operations with Command) which totally throws me off...
ST:TOS
Red = Operations (Engineering and Security)
Blue = Sciences
Gold = Command
ST:TNG
Red = Command
Blue = Sciences
Gold = Operations (Engineering and Security)
I *never* noticed this with DS9 *or* Voyager but I'm betting the uniform colors match that of TNG.
It totally invalidates what I've repeatedly told my grandson: "You *don't* want to be a common red shirt on a away mission as you may not come back alive." I'll now have to qualify that with the series...

Thanks, guys. Though it's probably overstating it to say I'm "back" on any kind of regular basis for the time being. Lots of balls up in the air for me these days.

Since I woke up in the middle of the night, and couldn't get back to sleep, I decided 'Why not work on the challenge?' I've just watched my second episode of Arrow in a row. It seems like the show is really starting to get some twists and turns.

I've decided that since I get Dish Network in my bedroom now, to really take full advantage of that and watch lots of TV. While I will still watch DVD's and my Roku, I'll mostly just watch various channels on TV. I really enjoy having satellite in my own room.

Better late than never I wanted to thank Hamilton Books aka GoldenWheels for the prize pack that arrived a few weeks ago.
I enjoyed the TV Challenge more than I expected to with Breaking Bad marathon and the prize was icing on the cake. Also thanks again to Travis for hosting.
