Great finds, thanks for posting those Hasslein (where's that handle from?).

Planet of the Apes. "According to Dr. Hasslein's theory of time in a vehicle traveling near the speed of light..."

I am so in the mood for some holiday movies. Monday is too far away.

Haha. I probably kept track on paper for a while, then lost the sheets or something and just gave up keeping track. Lol. I used a little notebook for the Horror Challenge and I plan to do the same thing this time around.

I just checked what time dusk is on Sunday here in Chicago and I actually have Sunday off from work for the first time for this challenge so I will be spending most of that day watching Thanksgiving related material!

I'm at home today with my sick daughter and there are no less than three Thanksgiving sitcom episodes on the DVR.

I wish the challenge started earlier.

I think I'm contractually obligated to say something like that every year. The TV shows and holiday films start at least a week before Thanksgiving, seems like we should be able to count a show's annual Thanksgiving episode.

Forget the week before. Hallmark Chanel has been airing almost nonstop Christmas movies all month long. Need to put more on my DVR.

I remember this coming up a few years ago. Did people really not want it to start earlier?

I've been dvr'ing quite a few of these myself. I will admit though, that I have quite a few of these specials on DVD as well...I'm a sucker for cheesy Christmasy drivel.

I don't think too many people are clammering for an earlier start, but TM has always been against it since he's extended it twice already.

My argument is that extending it doesn't really hurt anyone, or add any work to the host's tasks; so even if only a few people want it to fully include Thanksgiving then why not.

If it's a Christmas show Challenge, then December only makes since.

But if you're going to include New Years shows and specials, then at least go to January 2nd.

And if you're going to include Thanksgiving shows then start the full week before Thanksgiving, as that's when the programming starts.

No biggie of course and I wouldn't begrudge TM if he ignores this or even scales it back, but just making the argument.

Me and my friends are doing a movie night on Saturday and they picked Planes, Trains and Automobiles. So yeah, whatever TM decides is fine with me, but if he could just happen to start it one day earlier, that would be super sweet.

Good point, since a lot of shows go with reruns or get preempted in the holiday week.

RE: Starting early.

This one has no pressure for numbers so just start early and put what you watch on your list but don't number it -or- number pre-challenge viewings and start over on the official start date.

I OK with what ever is decided as I don't do mass marathons of holiday films like in a few of the other challenges. I usually use this one to help me schedule favorites and slow down a bit.

I'd like it to start when the holiday shows start showing up. Family Guy already had one, so it feels weird to be watching them but the challenge hasn't started. It feels like cheating.

I wouldn't mind if it started earlier, but seeing as it is only a couple more days, I'm good either way. I already know what I plan to start with. Christmas in Yellowstone, which I should be able to find either on Hulu, or Roku.

If I had a vote, I'd cast it in favor of starting a week earlier to get in all the T-day shows. But I wouldn't badger TM bout it .

I'm with everyone else, it seems. If it starts earlier to catch shows on TV that's cool, if it doesn't, that's cool too.

Re: It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like The 10th Annual Holiday Challenge (11/24 - 1/1)

I've read all your comments and I might decide to start earlier next year, it's obviously too late for this year.

That being said, everyone enjoy the start of the challenge tonight
