As a personal favor, let's not think too much about why I started this or why I kept at it.

Oh, double features, that I can get behind! As a matter of fact, a while back I made a list of science fiction and horror double features based on putting terms like "horror poster double feature" into Google and scrolling through the images. It was time consuming but fun. I ignored any obvious revival house posters and only a few of these are from newspaper ads and they are in no particular order but here's the list of just under 60 double features that I'm pretty sure actually happened. There are some Hammer double features with Frankenstein movies that I didn't include because I have an article somewhere that lists those (I may try to add those later). Also there are some alternate titles listed at the bottom.
As a personal favor, let's not think too much about why I started this or why I kept at it.

Great to see some hopping vampire trailers. Vampire Hunters seems available but some of the other ones have gotten pretty hard to find. I even checked a couple of Asian DVD sites. Luckily, I do have a copy of Mr. Vampire (which, of course, I really really want to watch this evening but I am going to save).
Some really good stuff here. Thanks for sharing this. I'm in quadruple feature heaven!
Quite a few can be found on this facebook page under 'photos'

The Legacy / The Sentinel / SSsssss
Long Time Dead / My Little Eye / Hood Rat

I've been watching Horror docs lately to get myself in the mood. Just now finished Best Worst Movie on Netflix, though I've never seen Troll 2.

In anticipation of the challenge I just picked up Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island (1998), Scooby-Doo and the Witch's Ghost (1999), still considered two of the best and scariest of the 22! direct-to-video Scooby-Doo movies. The dvds are selling for five-ish on Amazon. Scooby-Doo and the Goblin King (2008) (which I already own) is for Halloween night.

For when the time comes, here's a list of every film that's already been picked as a subset choice:
And once again, I feel that I would be remiss if I didn't remind everyone of some of the important films in the horror genre that have NOT been picked as subset films yet. Please, for the love of all that is scary, keep these films in mind when making your subset film choices:
I really doubt that most people have seen every film on the list above; I've not seen close to two dozen of them. I'm just asking folks to consider these films before automatically defaulting to a Michael Bay-produced remake or anything ever released by Troma, Full Moon, or the Asylum.

Forgot to mention both links for the drive-in double features were added and the name was changed accordingly. Thanks for those, BTW!
And where's all the theme suggestions? We've gone two days without. You'd think it's a holiday or something.
157/157 here. That said, I need to revisit roughly 150 of those.
To date the only movie from the Asylum I've felt that's even remotely worth a damn is 'Abraham Lincoln vs. Zombies'. That, and I'll freely admit to having fun with both Sharknados.

Just stumbled across a couple of Raro Video Blu-rays going for all time lows on Amazon:
Ubaldo Terzani Horror Show $7.99
Murder Obsession $12.99 (under 'other sellers')
EDIT: Even cheaper from Pristine Media - $10.98 shipped without Prime.
Both are from 3rd party seller fictions, and Prime eligible.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 10th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/
I guess that my main goal in compiling such as list was to attempt to circumvent the inaccurate argument that since all of the worthwhile horror films have already been used as subset picks, we should be able to use previously-used films again.
A secondary objective in creating the list was to suggest to those who are relatively new to horror films that there are far better films out there than the direct-to-video drivel that often shows up in Redbox machines, on 10-movie Echo Bridge packs, and on Netflix streaming. Sure, it may be easy for everyone to get his or her hands on a copy of THE GINGERDEAD MAN or EVIL BONG (or GINGERDEAD MAN VS. EVIL BONG) for the Challenge, but when we as a community haven't watched and discussed Bava's BLOOD AND BLACK LACE or Wise's THE HAUNTING, why settle for less?
And one more thing, since I'm still on my soapbox--I urge everyone who contributes a subset pick this year to have actually seen the film you're picking BEFORE you suggest it. I fell into this trap one year myself, and I felt bad for picking a film that I wouldn't have recommended if I'd seen it first.

That's a great list rbrown. I have a good portion of the not picked as subset films on your list, or at least some of them. Some are even available on MC 50 movie sets I might add for those looking where to pick them up. And as for the Universal Frankenstein movies, the Frankenstein Legacy collection is being rereleased.

Has there been a theme for twist endings, or boys will be girls/girls will be boys?
