That would be awesome!

Even more of a reason to watch Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer.

So they were $10 before or after your discount card?

I don't know why I am obsessing about these stupid BRs. It's not like I don't have the movies on DVD.

I wish I had the money to buy Kuroneko. It looks like a movie I'd enjoy. Sigh.

Kuroneko appears to be available on Hulu. It's a shame I passed it up last Criterion sale.

On that note, I love that we're 41 pages into this thread, and the challenge hasn't even started yet.

I really can't wait!

I bought it last year, and I strongly recommend getting it. It's a vengeful ghost story directed by Kaneto Shindo, who also directed Onibaba, another terrific Criterion horror film, with a similar theme of a mother and daughter killing samurai.

Oooh, thanks for letting me know. I might sign up for a free trial of Hulu Plus just so I can watch it.

Coincidentally, I had a serial killer dream last night; then wake up this morning and check this thread to see all the recent serial killer posts. I was the killer and I was stalking Yunjin Kim from Lost.

Already answered but it has to count. It's #179 on the list of the Top 500 Horror Movies http://www.icheckmovies.com/lists/to...horror+movies/

4. “Yea” is pronounced “yay” and is most often found in the Bible. Most any time anyone uses “yea,” they mean “yeah” and should spell it as such.

5. If you get a squiggly red line under something you’ve just typed, double-check the spelling before you hit the “Post” button. That squiggly red line may be annoying, and it may not know a lot of the words that it winds up under, but occasionally it shows you that you’ve made a mistake.

6. The word “seen” should NEVER, EVER directly follow the word “I,” unless you’ve got a very twisted sentence construction that throws a helping verb in front of the word “I.” Seeing a sentence that begins with the words “I seen…” makes the OCD Grammar Guy very, very sad.

7. The word “myself” can never be a suitable substitution for the words “I” or “me,” and vice versa. That’s why we have three different words in the first place. Just like you would never say “I tied my shoes me,” you should also never say “My brother gave myself a copy of Psycho on my birthday” or “Three other people and myself toured the haunted house last night.” The word “myself” should really not be used very often.

8. There Is Absolutely Nothing More Annoying Than Capitalizing The First Letter of Every Word That You Type. Save that for titles of things ONLY. No, I mean it. Really. Don’t let me catch you doing this. I’m not kidding.

It should. And it's been added to the OHMC9 to do list.

On the checklist? Maybe something along the lines of:

Watch a Film Adaption of the following Serial Killers:
--- Charles Manson -
--- Ted Bundy -
--- Andrei Chikatilo -

And don't forget we do currently have a night of serial killers on theme nights, although it's sharing the spotlight with other stab happy sub-genres (Slashers / Giallos / Serial Killers on 10/19).

Instead of Jack the Ripper/Serial Killer, why not 'True Life Horror' or somesuch? Would encompass a broader range of films IMO

That would be a bit too broad for my tastes, and would open the floodgates for debate over titles like Amityville Horror and such.

Thanks for the info... maybe I will go there when I am at the mall this weekend.

No problem about posting the answer here. I think the question that leads off Thread #2 is classic!

I'm having the same problem. Not watching any Horror until the Challenge is rough. I feel like a junkie.

Took the afternoon off of horror today and took my dad to see ATLAS SHRUGGED II. Great movie. Highly recommend it to go see. Can't wait for the last part to come out.
