I just upped mine to 13.5 today.

Also, Chad? GetGlue?!?!? Awesome.

Next week I need to start stocking up on Oktoberfest Ales as well.

Can't wait. I'm in the middle of moving to help my father with cancer treatment, but hopefully things will be stable by Oct. Just in case, I've counted 463 film references on Chad's banner...

Yes. I edited the note at the top of the thread to reflect that.

Also we've got news pertaining to the sponsors and the checklist is ready. I'll try to post it tonight.

Wow, Chad! Excellent work on this. Very excited for my first ever horror challenge. I chucked at the "This line has been left blank since 2010 comment".

Regarding prizes, I see the criteria are:

- Actively participates.
- Reaches the challenge's goal of 100.
- Completes the Checklist, Theme Nights or 31 Film Subset.
- Has participated in 5 or more horror challenges.

To clarify, do each of the above need to be met in order to qualify for a prize?

Additionally, please correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought there were going to be bonus points or something incorporated related to if you attend a haunted house/trail, a horror play, etc.

Simply participating is enough to potentially win a prize

No, they're all separate categories. And it's not uncommon to have new ones added later on; it's just dependent on how many overall prizes are available. Last year I think we had 7 prize categories.

Yes. I was planning on doing one that's optional and another for a bonus point. The latter is gonna be incorporated into the 31 Film Subset list and we'll pick those films sometime in September.

Looking forward to checklist and sponsor news.

If live events are included would they be counted as items? If so, how? Any restrictions?

As usual, I tried include a good mixture of the old and the new, the mainstream and the obscure and obviously that the filmography has enough titles. I *think* I incorporated all the suggestions into it I could, but if something's noticeably missing let me know. Also plan on eventually adding and revising a few hyperlinks.

One thing I didn't include is the "killed by" entry. It got a few mixed reactions and then was sort of overshadowed by the extra day discussion. Of course there's no rush on whether we do or don't add this one being it doesn't require any specific titles for those that like to plan ahead. So feel free to give any feedback on it:

Spoiler:
List 10 different kills:
--- 1. Killed by (insert kill method), (insert title).
--- 2. Killed by (insert kill method), (insert title).
--- 3. Killed by (insert kill method), (insert title).
--- 4. Killed by (insert kill method), (insert title).
--- 5. Killed by (insert kill method), (insert title).
--- 6. Killed by (insert kill method), (insert title).
--- 7. Killed by (insert kill method), (insert title).
--- 8. Killed by (insert kill method), (insert title).
--- 9. Killed by (insert kill method), (insert title).
--- 10. Killed by (insert kill method), (insert title).

I'll get to the sponsor news either tonight or tomorrow. And I'm hoping to get the theme nights list up within the next couple or so days so, again, you can plan ahead and get an idea what your subset picks are going to be.

Looks like a more a more specific celebrity focused checklist. I'll have to figure out who some of them are to get ready; looking forward to expanding my horizons.

Last night I pulled aside movies I'd like to watch this challenge and I think I've already overshot what is plausible.

I don't think the open-ended-ness really fits the checklist. 3-4 somethings like Death underwater, decapitation, death while fucking, ect. Would work a bit better. Kind of like car bingo where you are watching and then ooh ooh thats on the checklist!

I'm getting too eager. I might have to watch some movies I've wanted to re-watch before the challenge. At least that opens up some spots for new viewings

Im in the same boat and ended up breaking into the horror pile i been saving for the challenge, but thankfully so far the two titles are good enough to warrent a rewatch for the challenge in Zombie Babies and Mr. Hush.

and having the checklist this early helps since i need to order a couple titles to fill in some blanks. October can't come fast enough
