C'mon - what's the holdup on RACE FOR YOUR LIFE and BON VOYAGE, CHARLIE BROWN ??
these are two excellent Peanuts theatrical features, released, respectively, in 1977 and 1980. Race For Your Life, Charlie Brown shows the gang trying to survive at sleep-away camp, and Bon Voyage, Charlie Brown (And Don't Come Back) shows key characters away in Europe.
It's been several years since they released the first two Peanuts theatricals, A Boy Named Charlie Brown (1969) and Snoopy Come Home (1972), so I'm surprised about the holdup on the next two theatricals. They're excellent films, and I'm dying to see them again after years and years since I've seen them on TV.

I'd like for them both to be released as well. I'd love to have Race for Your Life here at home.
As for Bon Voyage, I remember the whole fire scene scared me as a kid so I don't give that one the same love. But that one absolutely needs to be released with its "sequel" the primetime TV special where they travelled around Europe after leaving the chateau going to all the WWI/WWII historical landmarks as an extra.

I would LOVE Race For Your Life to be released.
I admittedly don't have quite as much love for Bon Voyage, but it's still quite good. I'd honestly grab both of them if released.

Bon Voyage was always my favorite one of the films and has been high on my list of titles I'd love to see released. It seemed like such a departure from the rest of the Peanuts series, very dark, mysterious, atmospheric (relatively speaking). Great soundtrack/score as well.
Race For Your Life was probably my least favorite of the 4 movies, but both would be release-date purchases for me.

I saw Race for Your Life in theaters (I'm old).
We've discussed this in other threads before (I probably started the discussion once or twice), but the Peanuts franchise is a little foggy to me right now. Paramount released the TV specials and the two movies mentioned, A Boy Named Charlie Brown and Snoopy Come Home, on DVD. They released Race for Your Life and Bon Voyage on VHS. Warner recently took over the TV specials and has been doing a nice job (including BD), but do they own the rights to the theatricals as well? Paramount seems to still own ABNCB and SCH, and in fact released them on a double feature disc in March of this year.
Would love to see someone push these out.

Looks like Paramount changed distributors. Congratulations John Doebouy. Looking forward to a re-release of Elephant Man.

This was my first home video player, and - yes - I had Race For Your Life, Charlie Brown on it. In fact, that's the only home video format I ever bought the movie on.

I would be surprised if Race for Your Life, Charlie Brown even got a decent DVD release, I expect the movie with be cropped to widescreen, like the previous two movies (A Boy Named Charlie Brown, Snoopy Come Home).
I think the only hope is a DVD release in Australia or UK, where the previous two movie were released in correct aspect ratio.

Race For Your Life was actually the very first movie that rolled off the assembly line at the RCA Videodisc pressing plant, legend has it, though there were several other titles out with it on the format's release day.

Too many people assume an animated movie was widescreen, based on a theatrical showing.
