I'm not sure who has the rights to the Green Hornet characters, although given the movie from a few years ago was distributed by Sony then maybe them?

I take that back. Green Hornet Inc owns the rights to the Green Hornet character. They say that FOX owns the rights to the TV series.

Re: Adam West says that Batman(60s) dvds may be near

Was able to catch a couple episodes on IFC (thanks for the heads up-didn't realize I had that channel) and one thing I realized was the many gorgeous women that were on the series-then again I was a kid when I watched the series on reruns for the first time. Julie Newmar and Yvonne Craig are the most obvious. Donna Loren. Wow. Looked her up on Wikipedia, great story, being the Dr.Pepper Girl..something that was new to me (dont even remember this episode). Looking forward to doing more research once the series is out. Love this stuff.

I'll always carry a torch for Yvonne Craig as Batgirl.

I'm pretty sure that Batman didn't mind being tied up by Catwoman.

Some schmuck bought my DVD-R versions on ebay for over $100. I can't even believe that. I started bidding at $19.99 with a Buy It Now of $40.

Man. I'd almost feel guilty.

How did you get away with selling DVD-Rs? I thought ebay doesn't (technically) allow the selling of bootlegs?

The guy may buy them from you and then ask for his money back once he gets them. Just FYI.

They don't, typically, but the sheer volume of product that is listed every day makes it impossible for them to police.

I had bought a bootleg set of the Back to the Future trilogy on DVD back in 2000 since Universal was taking their sweet time releasing them on the format. They were fullscreen copies ripped from the LD, which I didn't want (I was only interested in them if they were OAR).

When I tried to resell them, eBay cancelled the auctions, suspended the account (permanently), and I got a physical letter in the mail from Universal's lawyers telling me to never do it again.

My dad was pissed because it was addressed to him. I was only 13 at the time so I was selling under his name.

Needless to say, I learned my lesson.

Hmmm... The only reason I listed it was because I saw someone else was selling the same thing. I've only started to sell more recently as I upgrade to Blu. I clearly labelled them as DVD-Rs in the description. I said that it was NOT an official release. I showed pictures. I made no attempt to hide or make it seem like it was anything other than what it was. I really was only trying to make a few bucks off of it to put towards the future Blu. Doing a Buy It Now of $40 I thought was fair. Never did I ever think someone would pay $112 for it. I think I even bought mine off of eBay... or maybe it was sell.com. I don't remember. Anyone who is buying this has to know that it hasn't been released.

What would be the difference of selling DVD-Rs of any Warner Release...or CreateSpace? I sold my Warner Archive of The Legend of Billie Jean in anticipation of the Bluray. Is it OK because they are "official" DVD-Rs?

I just recently bought an unofficial version of Salute Your Shorts... no issue on eBay it seems. I knew what I was purchasing.

I guess I'll have to wait and see what happens...

I just mentioned it because I have seen a lot of people get burned by both selling and buying bootlegs on ebay even if you advertised them as "unofficial.". All the buyer has to do is complain (whether he knows what he was buying or not) and he will get his money back and you will be left holding nothing (except maybe a black mark on your ebay account).

Just a heads-up.

I appreciate that. I guess I never really thought anything of it. I mean I understand eBay cracking down on bootlegs of official DVDs that have been produced. But I never really seen many things with situations like this.

I sent the buyer a message just so we were on the same page. He said he anxiously awaits their arrival to share with his grandsons. So I guess it's an older gentleman, maybe not too up on technology.

Caught an episode early this morning on IFC that had Monique Van Vooren in it. Wonder how many other hotties will pop up!

Yeah it isn't hard to see what Adam and Burt slept with so many of the girls and had their hands all over them.

Indeed. The show had an abundance of villains and eye candy which made it very appealing among other things. The episodes on IFC (when I'm able to catch an episode) will have to whet my appetite in the meantime until the blu-ray arrives in the mail.

Re: Adam West says that Batman(60s) dvds may be near

I was at the panel. The blu ray version looked great! Darker. They showed two separate clips of side by side versions of what we've been seeing on tv and what will be on the blu ray set and the difference was striking. The darker colors/tone makes a difference too.

They mentioned something like 7 extras/featurettes. Don't know how long they are though.
