I'd throw another vote towards Night of the Creeps, as I just ordered it on blu.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 6th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/3

So if I'm reading the rules correctly tv shows count this year? I remember using my Dexter viewings as wildcards last year. I really wanted to start watching True Blood so if I can get 2 episodes as an entry instead of a wildcard that would be great.

Also if this is the case can anyone recommend any other horror themed tv series? My primary goal is to watch movies but with my schedule fitting in episodes of tv here and there would be ideal filler to get closer to my monthly goal.

The series I'll be visiting (or at least plan to check out) are Tales From the Crypt, The Hitchhiker and The Outer Limits.

Ah how did I forget Tales from the crypt. I'll definitely check out the hitchhiker too. Thanks for the suggestions.

I need to pick up some Tales From The Darkside seasons for this.

I'd also suggest Night Gallery.

I'm really excited for this, having a month to recoup from the animation challenge I hope to watch a decent number of movies between my job searching and my sleepless nights (Insomnia FTW). I've got quite a few things I haven't watched that I hope to put a dent in. A friend got me some tv rips of the Werewolf series and I also have a 250 horror movie pack I bought a couple years ago.

I'm all for that.

I haven't seen any comic-book adaptations other than the first Hulk and Spiderman films. Do any of those have horror elements?

30 Days of Night and From Hell. The Crow has some horror elements. Can't think of much else.

Edit: Blade 1, 2 & 3 , Spawn has horror elements.

What Melmoth said. Hellboy Animated: Sword of Storms and Hellboy Animated: Blood and Iron both have Horror genres listed on IMDB and I think I counted them on my list a couple of years ago. It's kind of on the edge.

Spawn animated TV series I would count for sure.

I'm hoping to finally watch Hammer House of Horror, and maybe Nightmares & Dreamscapes.

In addition to above, these are other films based on comic books and might count as horror:
Aliens Versus Predator (and it's sequel)
Cemetery Man (aka Dellamorte Dellamorte) <- Highly Recommended (OOP, but Netflix has non-streaming)
Constantine
Ghost Rider
Haunted World of El Superbeasto (animated, comic also by Rob Zombie)
Hellboy (and it's sequel)
Howard the Duck
Jonah Hex
Swamp Thing
Tales from the Crypt movies (Demon Knight & Bordello of Blood) <- These are a guilty pleasure of mine.
Lady Death (animated)
Vampirella (OOP)

The Addams Family movies (and TV series) are based on a comic strip.

Both Creepshow and Tales From the Darkside are homages to EC Comics so have thematic roots in comic books. Plus these tv series count.

I am in. It may be my worst year yet, but I wouldn't miss this challenge for anything.

Sure looks like a icheckmovies list! I should know because I got plenty of the same movies lined up as well. (Too bad I can't get to see Curse of the Crying Woman again. That was one of my favorite discoveries from the site)

130 remaining on the Top 500 Horror Movies list with about 5 more to finish off the imdb Top 50 Horrors. If I can finish them all off next month, I'll be happy.

As for comic related films, Man-Thing would also count....if you can make it through it.

More comics, airing on 10/31, just in time to slip into the challenge

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 6th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/3

I don't recall if it's been discussed in previous years or if I missed it in this thread, but what are the thoughts about the daily film subset aligning with the daily theme subset? For instance, if 12 October is the night we watch Dracula, then can't that also be "Vampire Movie" night? I realize it can make the theme subset redundant in a way, but it's awfully hard for a lot of us to do a double-feature every night of the month just to check off both subsets.

Where do Halloween-themed episodes of otherwise non-horror television programs fall? If one wanted to watch several episodes to make one entry on their list, would it count as one wildcard entry?

As long as they're Halloween-themed you don't need to use a wildcard - they count. At least that's my understanding.
