They aren't. They're showing 4 Hammer films each of those Friday nights. The other films listed after the Hammer films (in this case: Night of the Lepus and The Boogens) are just horror films scheduled for later those same nights. There are only three Hammer films showing on the schedule for 10/22 because Chad left the 11:15 pm movie (These Are the Damned) off the list (presumably because it's listed as Sci-Fi, not horror, on IMDb and allmovie).

Of course it's nowhere on the website's schedule to be found.

I definitely wouldn't consider These are the Damned to be a horror film...it's sci-fi, similar to The Prisoner with a bit of Clockwork Orange mixed in.
Personally, I wouldn't consider The Stranglers of Bombay to be a horror film either, but IMDb does list it as horror and fair game for the challenge.

I would think These Are the Damned would be a good use of the wildcard. There is plenty of horror out there to see but if somebody wanted to do a Hammer night that would be one way to include it.

If I can find it on DVD, or if I learn I can stream it from Netflix, I might just make Summer School one of my wildcard picks. We've been getting into NCIS on USA in the last month or so, which has reminded me how much I like Mark Harmon. And for those unaware, there are two students in the film absolutely obsessed with horror movies (specifically The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) who insist on screening the movie as part of their terms for making an actual effort in their remedial class. Their obsession with horror prosthetics and effects plays into the final act of the film quite prominently, too.

Last year, we found Massacre in Steelbook for, like, $10 or whatever it was, and I still have never seen it. It might be a fun double-feature, no?

I'm leaning towards "The Vampire Bat" from 1932 with Lionel Atwill, Fay Wray, and Melvyn Douglas. It's in my unwatched pile plus I've never seen it before. It looks to be quite fun as most of my favorites are the Uni horror titles. This one is reportedly very similar to the early Uni titles.

After that a handful of Zombie PD titles from the unwatched pile to get 'em out of the way. I don't much care for this type film but they are on one of those 20 film PD collections I've yet to watch and my personal goal is to greatly reduce the unwatched pile. So... starting with a fun one to get into the spirit of things and finishing the night with some "meh" titles.

Alright here's another question. Now since the inclusion of television shows does that now mean that we would have to watch two Masters of Horror movies to count as 1 entry or is it going to be like previous years where one MOH is one list item?

I also want to chime in and thank Chad for all the hard work he's done. Since participating last year I've been looking forward to this all year. I just wish I wasn't working so much so I could find more time for it. I'm thinking a lot of sleepless nights are in store for me.

I have several horror films on the DVR waiting for 11:59 pm Thursday to turn into 12:00 am Friday. #1 is going to be 1962's Incubus, which I DVR'd from TCM. It's a tale of Satanism and deviltry starring William Shatner and with dialogue entirely in Esperanto. I've heard about this movie for years and I'm looking forward to watching it.

So far I'm considering Mad Monster Party (which looks cool), Ghostbusters, Monster House, Igor, and Scoobie Doo films. Any other ideas? Thanks for any help.

Last year, I watched Monsters, Inc. to meet the G-rating checklist item when our niece was over one afternoon. You might also consider Ernest Scared Stupid, though I remember it being darker than I'd expected for an Ernest movie at the time. Eartha Kitt scared the hell out of me.

Also: I know TV content is in this year; are we also allowing an aggregate of 90 minutes worth of short films? And if so, does the "Thriller" music video count as a short film?

The Disney Halloweentown movies and Scary Godmother (1 & 2) are some that my daughter likes. She's almost 6 now, but she's been watching them for the past few years.

Coraline should count, though it's probably too intense for a 2 year old. Come to think of it, so is Ghostbusters. The librarian will give her nightmares for years!

I had Monster House on my list for last year's challenge, and I'm not sure that it's suitable for a two year-old. It might get a little too intense for younger viewers, but it's a fun haunted house movie for the older kids (and us kids-at-heart). I would definitely screen it in advance to make sure that your child can handle it.

Wallace & Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit is a much more palatable film for both younger and older viewers.

For instance, if 12 October is the night we watch Dracula, then can't that also be "Vampire Movie" night? Sorry, I overlooked this from earlier.

I'm actually in the process of syncing them up now, although you can only do that to an extent. The subset list might contain five vampire films while there's only one category for vampires on theme nights. I thought about combining them into one list, but since it's so late in the month I'd prefer to keep them as separate entities again this year.

However it's not a bad idea and maybe we put it to a vote for next year's outing. Might look something like this:
