I have one of those units. I can still remember when it housed all our DVDs. Now, it's become a CD stand and has been replaced by three taller stands. The only thing that bugs me is that my Johnny Cash Unearthed boxed set won't fit on the top shelf, so I can't properly alphabetize it. I mean, I suppose I could just keep buying CD's by artists whose last names come before "Cash," but that's a level of OCD even I'm not willing to entertain.

Re: Post pics of your DVD collection and HT, Part 13

I have this huge shelf to store my DVD and Blu-Rays. Only have filled 1 1/2 rows and I still have 3 more rows of shelf space. If I didn't have my bills I am sure I would be able to fill it up in no time. When I can afford it I am gonna start to collect the Complete Series of several shows. I have a new rule for the shows. I only collect the shows that have every season out in a season set or in a Complete Series Set. If The Show hasn't completed its run then I will wait till it does. There is only one show that I excuse from this and that is The Simpsons

Re: Post pics of your DVD collection and HT, Part 13

I've really enjoyed looking at all the pics of everyone's collections, so I thought I'd chime in with mine. These are photos of our old DVD collection, which we mostly sold off for a variety of reasons (probably too complicated to get into here). We've since started rebuilding it -- not just trying to reacquire the same stuff, though, I just mean we're buying movies again, mainly Blu-rays, but also the occasional favorite on DVD. Hope you enjoy!

My non-wrestling DVD collection is a bit pedestrian but it has most of my favorites:

My wrestling DVD collection es muy bueno:

that is an impressive WWE collection. i have alot of the docs/best of stuff.

Do you have every PPV in the order they aired? If so why don't you put the UK only PPV in there proper place?

Yeah I do. When I had it on another shelf, the UK/Aus PPVs would've disrupted that cool 2003 spine thing.

Re: Post pics of your DVD collection and HT, Part 13

I was trying out the new digital camera and thought I'd bump this thread with my own pics.

I keep my dvds in an extra closet. Sorry everyone, but the out in the open look doesn't work for me personally. I've sold off about 100 movies and just focus on the tv on dvd since it fits my viewing habits much easier. With just a few exceptions, I won't buy movies anymore, just rent them.

Boy, seeing some of these impressive collections make me want to buy more. I'd love to display my collection like some of you, but then people would always want to borrow stuff Unfortunately most of my friends don't treat disks and cases as nice as I would like them to.

Trust me, you don't want to go down that road. Before you know it you'll be appearing on Hoarders and get hostile at the mere mention of getting rid of your collection... Not that that's happening to me, but it's getting pretty damn close.

I'm the complete opposite, I had thousands of DVDs and around August of last year I was just like what the fuck am I doing...I've steadily been selling off DVDs since, according to Amazon I have sold 680 DVDs just on the Marketplace out of my personal collection. I've got my collection down to around 1200 titles but I'm still trying to sell off more. I'm still buying things, but mostly focusing on independent releases/blu-rays that I know I will watch over and over - strangely enough those are mainly exploitation titles (and of course Criterions) - everything else I'll be renting (for the first time since VHS I am renting) and focusing on watching a lot of my unwatched DVDs/blu's - with a goal of having no unwatched movies by years end.

I would also like to add that the green room looks amazing!

No, doesn't glow in the dark.

I've had a few "what have I done moments" with the green room. But I like it and I'm glad I did it.

The Simpsons is actually a puzzle.

Re: Post pics of your DVD collection and HT, Part 13

Been wanting to do this for awhile now, finally decided to sign up at Photobucket so I could post a pic of my collection.

It's not by any means as huge as some of yours but it's mine and I'm rather proud of it... -kd5-

This is a spare bedroom that now houses the horror movie collection.

The TCM Laserdiscs, Betamax and VHS.

TCM DVDs and my Anchorbay Tins.

Below that is some 900 odd horror titles.
and Star Wars. What can I say, I know what I like.

Re: Post pics of your DVD collection and HT, Part 13

The Ex used to call it The Girls Hanging On Meathooks Collection.
Current GF is much cooler. She actually made those shelves to fit perfectly between where the closet door opens out to and the TV. And theyre all DVD high and deep. Perfect maximization of the space. It holds about 110 DVDs per shelf.

Im thinking about putting a solid wood 3inx3in block on the top to set more stuff on because I actually have more editions of TCM that I cant display like I want to.

Oops sorry, I was looking at his reply to your pics. Yeah you don't have to make an account at Imageshack, it is ala carte no registration required.

But you do need some TCM meat packaging edition.
