Re: Post pics of your DVD collection and HT, Part 13
Just a few of my old VHS tape collection. I keep these (all over) in the basement.
Haven't watched any in ages, all were bought 1980s-90s. There are around 5,000 of them.

All my dvds/blu-rays are in my room, as I live with two roommates...at least for only 2 more months!
Anyway this is my collection of about 530 titles, with a 37in Toshiba HDTV and Panasonic BDDMP60 blu-ray player. Not bad for a college kid.

The JLA ones I did like (except the Wonder Woman one looked pretty weird), and I probably would have bought them, but I'm kind of phasing out of the toy buying thing. Unless there's some Superman figures based on Gary Frank's art, I don't think I'll be buying any more.
It's funny how you can just decide to done with collecting, but I'm definitely in the same boat. The good thing is that the fewer things you have, the more you appreciate what you do have.
Though I am really eyeballing a few Marvel bowen minibusts to jazz up my bookshelf (a Ketch Ghostrider and Black Panther). Otherwise, I'm pretty much done with buying figures.

Here's an update for my collection. About the same since last time, except Ive really become addicted to complete TV series sets, and got a helluva lot more toys.

Thanks, thats the Best Buy exclusive Roswell set. A friend of mine sold me his copy, when he didnt want it anymore. I once had those nice Dead Zone sets, but got rid of them a while back. I was hoping a complete would come out sometime.

Re: Post pics of your DVD collection and HT, Part 13
I have a sort of unorthodox way of organizing my collection.
First at the top I have North American/British (ish) Film Makers. I organize them chronologically. Starting with the filmmaker whose debut feature is the oldest, and ending with the filmmaker whose debut feature is the newest. Now of course this isn't an exact science, or at least I don't treat it that way. It starts with people like Orson Welles and Alfred Hitchcock, ands ends with people like Sofia Coppola and David Gordon Green.
After that I have a section that a combination foreign filmmakers and criterion films. Seeing as so many films by Godard, Kurosawa, Bergman, Melville etc, are all released on criterion, I found it acceptable to merge the sections. It starts with Criterion/foreign filmmakers, to just criterion (not director specific), to just foreign. then finally documentry. All chronological within their each sub section.
Next I have a section that I would just consider "dramatic classics". It starts chronologically with the original Scarface, and ends with American Gangster.
After that I have a mixture of horror/sci fi/comic book/comedy.
Next is franchises/box sets. Everything from The Exorcist box set, to all the Batman films, every Rambo/Rocky and the Bourne Trilogy.
Next is actor box sets. Brando, Dean, Newman, Eastwood, Pacino etc. followed by Warners Gangsters box sets, film noir box sets, fox film noir collection and criterion eclipse sets.
Following that is 2 rows of television.
a row of MMA (UFC 1-100)
And finally 10 wrestling dvd's and my last remaining 75 vhs tapes.
All in all I figure it to be a total of around 1100 dvd's and vhs.

Re: Post pics of your DVD collection and HT, Part 13
Okay, I've thought about posting in this thread often enough that I'm going to do it. I finished building shelves last week and am about 7/8s of the way through alphabetizing a good size collection. If only the shelving were anything but cheap and amateurish.
One wall
Three Walls
Viewing area, complete with baby toys!
So that's that. I have no idea what I'll do when I inevitably run out of room (again).

Re: Post pics of your DVD collection and HT, Part 13
individual shelves were cut to fit (after all this was a garage and nothing was square... anywhere lol..)
and hung on these things...
then tacked some wavy stuff in front to hide all the bad cuts..
very bottom has a deeper base with a bullnose trim
the top looks like crap cause i couldn't figure out what to put up there..

All these collections =
It'd be nice if dkedvd's photos didn't keep disappearing almost everywhere he's posted some before, though (saw a couple working in one thread, all others seem to be broken/expired/moved/removed)
